Re: 2014 Honda PCX

I really like the 'upgrades' to this scooter in 2014. In fact, i'd say these 'upgrades' should have been included in past models given that the technology was about and some of the superficial 'upgrades' should be the minimum - like the hazard lights, seats that stayed up when lifted, and LED lights...

I use the Dunlop Scootsmart. Much more stability and grip that the stock IRC tires.

Re: God rid of the short Givi and...

I wouldn't say that a taller screen is only for those who ride at relatively higher speeds. I ride at about 40mph, and there is certainly a difference with and without. It's all about maximising ease and comfort. As for 'manning up' (silly term that), I associate that with increasing ones intelligen...

Re: Dunlop Scootsmart vs Michelin City Grips

I had a City Grip rear on my PCX and have Scootsmarts on the Forza. Both are black and circular so there's really nothing to choose between them. The City Grips last really well, highly recommended. Scootsmarts also seem to be wearing well. Any deficiency with the IRC tyres on the PCX is in your he...

Or you could temporarily switch down to the Honda C90 like the guy in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc_IKEdptq0  Whoa! Nice video. This guy really knows how to enjoy this thing called Life. On another note, i can picture him riding back to pick up his camera after every scene wher...

Dunlop Scootsmart vs Michelin City Grips

When i first got my PCX 125 a few months ago - which is my first bicycle with a motor ;) - i found the tyres really slippy. Perhaps it was my riding skill, but upon recommendation by a local bike shop - Mark Davall in Harlow - i got the Dunlop Scootsmart, and found it to be very stable. The thing is...

Thanks all! :)

....so the stock pipes are as quiet as it gets. On that point, i'm considering sticking to my stock pipe....till it rusts at least. However....

On a related note, are there any significant performance/efficiency increases that would still make an upgrade worthy of consideration?

Re: Quiet-Exhaust Recommendations Anyone?

Unfortunately your most likely out of luck. Aftermarket exhausts are geared towards reducing back pressure to increase performance. This means lighter and less packing along with larger diameter pipe which translates into more decibels. I have fitted a takegawa silent sport (the black one) and it g...

Re: Givi Tall windshields in the UK, best to order and forge

I guess they went up by .99 cents. I ordered mine through them and I am happy to report that I just received it today, as well as custom levers, and it took me all of 15 minutes to install both. I am very impressed with both, though I do have a halo affect on one corner, but that may be because I g...

Quiet-Exhaust Recommendations Anyone?

Hi all, I'm looking for an exhaust that is quieter than the one that comes with the Honda PCX 125 (2013). I don't know much about scoots or bikes, so i'd really appreciate details. And for those whom are UK-based, perhaps some links? I've written to a few online retailers without response unfortunat...

Re: Wider Tires

I'm quite impressed with the stock Dunlops on mine. I would certainly replace the rear tyre with a larger one when the time comes - primarily to improve the gearing above 90km/h. Redwind, did you get the standard size tyres for your PCX? Yes Wingz. Got the right size to fit the wheel size. Too bad ...

Re: Cover for winter storage

That's nice to know - that there is enough space for a tall windshield. I got an Oxford medium myself, and was wondering if it would be large enough after i fit my yet-to-be-delivered Givi 323DT windshield.

Re: Wider Tires

Get some Michelin City Grips. You can lean so far over in a corner that you scrape the panels. See here. Plenty of grip and very predictable, I can't see a bigger tyre giving any advantage over standard sizes - braking maybe? Anyone know? Dunlop Scootsmart..... When i first got my PCX a few months ...

Yeah, looks like shipping to the U.S. beefs it up too much. I paid what you paid, plus free shipping...to my place in the UK that is.

Hope you get your screen soon man. Post up some pics when you do! :)

Yes, a couple of months. I ordered it on October 5th. They send me notices ever so often to let me know that they haven't forgotten about me and that it is on back order every where. They have even assign an individual to me to make sure I understand that they are doing everything they can but are ...

Re: Givi Tall windshields in the UK, best to order and forge

@ Mel, Several months Mel?! Unbelievable. And i thought i was having it bad with 3-4 weeks wait-time. @ Cracksta, the short one is quite easy to get from quite a few sources as i discovered from inquiries. But you're right about the wind-noise. I can hear a bassy hum even at 20mph, but that is count...

Givi Tall windshields in the UK, best to order and forget

After inquiries with many retailers in the UK, i finally discovered, or was told, that Givi only makes the screen after it is ordered. So, now the 3-4 week wait begins as i just ordered it 2 days ago. Strange, one can build a house in a week, but a screen takes longer. Anyway, told myself that it's ...
