Re: Honda pcx does not exceed 90km / h, I think electric fai
Is the needle stuck at 90 kph or will the bike not go over 90 kph? The wording could mean either of those, or also could mean the almost impossible never varies from 90 kph. "bike remains at 90"

Re: Overfilled oil. Did i do any serious damage?
I must admit my PCX has never been to the dealer for any service. I have been a mechanic of some kind for a long time. One of the benefits of buying a solid understressed machine is reliability. I have never had a problem that warranty would cover. Bike was either out of warranty, or not a defect. T...

Re: Mobil 4T, suitable for PCX?
My 2 Cents, I retired from an equipment manufacturer. Many Years ago synthetic oil was tested, primarily to reduce foaming. It did not reduce foaming, although one of the oils had a name that suggested it would. Our engineering department required a number of points to be considered before authorizi...

Re: Early morning Bangkok
30 km is a long commute in Bangkok traffic.
I'm visiting my son in Bangkok. He's going to lend me his Yamaha to entertain myself while he works.
And we might shop for a PCX for him. (Maybe that was the Leo talking)

Re: Looking for a new chain and potentially a disklock screa
Zena 6mm disc lock with alarm. Reminder cable is a total waste. With a screamer, you do not need the reminder. If you want a lightweight chain, just get the cheapest thing you can find at Walmart. 50% of the time, if it looks locked, it is good enough. For sturdy chain, I use 5/8 lifting chain, hard...

My son has lived in Thailand for almost 10 years, he could rent the PCX. And I am in Thailand NOW.

Visiting Bangkok!
Hello all! I am visiting my (adult?) son in Bankok. He has a motorbike, Yamaha Nouvo, that he might like to replace. Does anybody know where we can rent a PCX in the Bangkok area? A rental could be a long test ride Or borrow? Or just a recommendation of the best dealer? Two ideas we had. Rent (or bu...

Re: Shuddering, Juttering, jerky starts.. Quick Fix ??
My 2013 PCX150 shudders on start. Not a whole lot, and mostly on the first start of the day. I suspect dirt built up in the clutch. I'll take the cover off sometime soon, and clean it out, or at least take a look. I CAN imagine how much dirt would collect in that housing, belt material and brake lin...

Re: anti theft measures for a Honda PCX 150 other than an al
A 125 PCX was stolen from my back yard, chained up with substantial galvanized proof coil. The chain was cut with boltcutters, from the appearance of the debris on the ground. I did replace it with a 150 PCX I now have some hardened lifting chain, 5/8". The chain has a ringing sound when handle...

Re: Roller weight replacement
Ok, I apologize for being a smart a**. I don't think they weights wear significantly, but the are often changed to influence the way the drive ratio changes. Lighter weights will make the engine turn at a higher speed to change ratio, comparable to shifting a gear. It takes more speed to make enough...

Re: Final Drive Oil
The viscosity of 90 weight gear oil at Standard Temperature overlaps the viscosity of straight 40 weight motor oil. Gear oil and motor oil use different scales. Straight 40 motor oil is very thick when cold. multiweight oil appears thinner in the container, but the viscosity does not change as much ...

Re: Another PCX 150 proud owner
A long time ago, I was picking up parts at a motorcycle shop, and the topic of breaking in came up. The guy behind the counter was the son of the owner, and he said he didn't break things in gently. He said something like, "I always just go out and run it hard after I put a new piston in."...

Re: Battery question
Batteries have improved over the years. My PCX sat from November to April, outside. With electronic ignition, and fuel injection, it started up amazingly quickly, and idled smoothly right away. Don't worry a bunch, it will start. If you use your bike at least occasionally in warm weather, and your w...

The HUMP?
Why the hump?
I KNOW why the hump!
The hump is there to discourage riding THREE-up, as you often see in Thailand.

Love the seat on the white bike.
I understand parts are reasonable in Thailand.
I visited my son there last year. Saw a few PCXs, but mostly cub style bikes.

Re: 2014 Honda PCX
Honda's US website lists 2013 and 2015 model years. I suspect the distribution system in the US has a number of 2013 bikes they want to sell, and might delay the updated model in the US a bit.

Re: What is the range on the PCX?
One of these days, I will do an economy run. I am convinced that highway speeds do NOT produce the best economy. Also, riding two up cuts mileage, when both of us are over 200#. (for you brits, we total at least 30 stone) Also, giving it a bunch of gas now and then is part of the fun. Still, I avera...
