Never ride over a stain, it could be water, it could be oil.

Diesel spill?

Hi forum, Just looking for a wee bit of advice. Was coming into work this morning, it was dry though the rear tyre appeared to slip out on roundabout; I wasnt going too fast or slow and suspect it was a bit of diesel from the buses. What is the actions on for hitting a patch of diesel if your alread...

Re: pcx 2015 Oil leak?

Thanks Yak, That's a grad idea, though I don't think I'll bother with the straw as will no doubt suck too hard and get a mouthful of the sticky goo. Will use the syringe. I don't think it's been massively overfilled though but it can be difficult to see. Thanks for all the helpful replies; I'll keep...

Re: pcx 2015 Oil leak?

Are you sure while checking the oil level a little bit of oil didn't escape from the stick and run down the out side of the case and then drip on the floor . Hi Frog and forum, Yep I'm sure a wee bit didn't drip on floor. Had a run on it this morning and can't see any obvious dripping; so will cont...

Re: pcx 2015 Oil leak?

Hi again,

I ran it this morning for about 5 minutes and can't see any evidence of leak at the bolt or anywhere for that matter. The bolt was tight and I checked oil level and seems okay, if not a little high???

Re: pcx 2015 Oil leak?

Thanks Yak,

I suspect that's where it's coming from as near the centerstand, will get a look in daylight.

pcx 2015 Oil leak?

Hi forum,

I noticed today whilst parked that I had lost a small amount of oil. I had checked the oil levels previously and noted it had been overfilled (at first service). I'm not tech minded, but its around the area of the right side at the back of centrestand.

Any ideas/advice.

Regards.

Re: First service.

What model year PCX? I have a 2011, and the manual states check valves at 600 miles. I did it myself, and sure enough both valves were off. The exhaust valve by a significant number. Checked again at 5000 miles, just the exhaust, checked again at 8,000 nothing. and then again at 10k, nothing. So ev...

Re: First service.

Others may disagree but I'm of the opinion after a chat with a US service tech at Honda (not to be named) that you are not needing valves checked at 600 miles. The maintenance schedule is written leaning in Honda's favor in the event of a catastrophic engine failure under warranty. Perhaps critical...

Thanks, do you mean that although it's in the service schedule, they shouldn't really need to? or am I wrong, and it's not part of the first service?

First service.

Hi forum, I'm wondering about the first service, as I understand the valve clearance is checked and would usually take a wee while as the body panels need removed. I e-mailed the dealer and asked how long it should take; they said it would take around an hour! Can I assume then that they wouldn't ha...

Re: New pcx125 owner with a noobie question.

It's left side scratch, right on edge of fairing just below the left wing mirror, the pointy bit of fairing.
Yeah the reflective tape may be ideal. Thank you:)

Re: New pcx125 owner with a noobie question.

Thanks WhiteNoise, Wee bit dissapointed bout the scratch but barely noticeable; I'd usually put on centrestand, just put on sidestand to lock up. Won't make that mistake again. I agree it would be ideal to see more protection for the PCX. I did see this on e-bay and thought it may protect and possib...

Re: New pcx125 owner with a noobie question.

My apologies, I don't think I managed to describe properly what I was enquiring. Luckily the PCX only gently dropped and hit my wall resulting in a very small scrape; it wasn't a complete drop however I wanted to make sure that if it happened again and if I were to be using a protector, the likelieh...

Re: New pcx125 owner with a noobie question.

Hi Whitenoise, Yeah looking for anything really that adds extra protection, bars, pads anything:) I seen the Vespa things also but nothing for PCX. I keep the PCX in my downstairs hall and put on side-stand the other morning, I think I must not have deployed properly as the PCX taken a dip resulting...
