Re: crash!!
Mel, it is good to crash every now and then; it shows your friends how tough you are. I watch the YouTube videos of scooter crashes.... almost everyone lays their bike down when a crash is imminent. I have read numerous articles in motorcycle magazines that tell a rider not to "lay down" t...

Re: Coming to a stop
Thanks for asking this question and thanks for the answers. I have wondered about this since i got my PCX. It gave me a funny feeling when i was new to the PCX ......when to let off the throttle when approaching a stoplight in a line of cars. I don't want to hold up the cars behind me. I don't want ...

Re: Another key
The dealers don't keep a large inventory of keys for scooters. And not every dealership offers key-making. When i had trouble getting a spare key for my Honda Metropolitan, i called Honda directly (toll-free number) and they got me the key.

Re: Suzuki V Strom 650 ABS Adventure
I took at look at your CrampBuster. Many good reviews. One person mentioned that it gets caught in your jacket cuff. Several could not get the piece to fasten to their throttle..... it slipped off no matter how tight they tried to fasten the band. Have you seen either of those things?

Re: Coolant for PCX 125
@jdb, if my bottom nipple fails a 2nd time, i have to wait a week for the new tank to be ordered. There is still water in the radiator. Would you say that the scooter can be driven lightly for 7 days using only the radiator? Or should the bike sit until the replacement tank arrives? Or should i orde...

Re: Coolant for PCX 125
@jdb, thanks for the explanation. I had to wait a week for the replacement tank. I don't want that to happen again. Is the problem with the "keyway" that surrounds the nipple? If so, is the nipple breaking off as it continually rubs or bounces against the keyway? What padding could be inse...

I finally put some tape along the sides of the coolant cover. That clip never did work. I watched the video, too.

Re: Coolant for PCX 125
dan, i posted this in your other coolant thread. I found the white end of a plastic "rivet" sticking out under the housing for the upper coolant tank (above the back tire). I don't know what it does but i assume it is the part you are describing. i could not get the tank to move when i pus...

Re: Removal of underseat storage compartment
Dantheman, i had the same problem with the nipple breaking off. Now that i have the new coolant tank, i wanted to see if i needed to brace the tank to prevent movement. The tank seems to be firmly in place so i ended up not stuffing any padding around it. Do you think that the tank is actually movin...

Re: When to replace rear tire?
I found this photo of a new Dunlop TT. Not the same size as mine but this is what mine looks like. I hope this image shows up. I tried to drag and drop it. What is the best way to add a downloaded photo to a post? I clicked on "img" on the Full Editor page but the letters "img, img&qu...

http://www.oponeo.co.uk/Temp/dunlop-tt900-gp-8402-t-f-l600-sk3.png This is what a new one looks like. If yours has no centre groove,, its long past time for a replacement. Thanks for the photo. My front tire has the center groove. When i got the bike (used at 2,000 miles), the rear tire did not hav...

When to replace rear tire?
My Dunlop TT900 (9001?) has 4,500 miles. Someone mentioned that the tire looked bald. That Dunlop tire does not have any small grooves for rain. Just some diagonal grooves offset from the center. The center of the tire is smooth. I bought the bike used with 2,000 miles but these must be the original...

Re: Anyone ever ordered from redracingparts.com? Ermax +25
I did a quick online search. Their website opened in 1999 in Italy. There were 6 complaints. All centered on the inability of buyers to get accurate information (tracking) from the Italian Post Office. Delivery times were extremely long.

Re: Coolant for PCX 125
The hose from my upper coolant tank to the radiator connects at a nipple on the underside of the upper tank. My nipple broke off after 1,000 miles. Adding fluid immediately flooded the garage floor. YOu will know immediately if you have a similar problem. If it doesn't flood out, the low fluid level...

Re: Bag / backpack carrying protip!
I stuff the empty backpack under the seat. When i buy something, i load up the pack and wear it. Maddie could even ride in the backpack if you tie the 2 zippers so they don't slip open while she is peeking out. Of course, in your example you could use 2 backpacks. One tied to the seat and one on you...

Re: When do you fill up your PCX150? (2013)
When you are down to one solid bar, you have 40 miles left to travel. When that last bar starts blinking, you have apx 20 miles. I drove my tank to EMPTY one time. During the refill ( after walking the scooter to the gas station), i got 1.65 gallons into the tank.... filled to the brim. Mine is a 20...

Re: Rear brake has too much free play
Not much happens at the 600 mile service. Mostly an oil change. Many dealers are asking you to delay until 1,000 miles. The 2 key things are the valve adjustment and the oil strainer. If those are both correct, you have little to do for the next 5,000 miles. There are lots of previous threads about ...
