I too can recall a more festive St. Patty's on my part. A bit more hootin' n hollerin! BUT!! It was damn good fun, I'll tell ye ...

Re: What windshield for tall people?
I put the National Cycle extra-tall shield on my bike, posted pictures . . . and got laughed at. It is rather tall. I stand only 5'10", but I have altered my saddle to move me up and further back on the bike, and the extra-tall shield blocks the breeze all the way up to eye level without blocki...

Re: National Cycle extra-tall windshield for 2015 PCX
Looks nice! :D I bought my Honda OEM tall windscreen last September (2015) when Nat'l Cycle told me they had absolutely no plans to ever make a model to fit the 2015 PCX. If they had told me they were working on one, I would've waited! How thick is the plastic? It's thick enough to retain its shape...

Re: National Cycle extra-tall windshield for 2015 PCX
jdb -- My PCX is brand-new, so perhaps the increase in acceleration has to do with engine break-in, and my growing familiarity with and confidence in the bike (I'm transitioning from a 400lb, 50HP motorcycle to a 280lb, 14HP scooter). Yesterday I reached the WOT speed of around 64mph, as fast as I h...

Re: First commute on my new PCX
I don't know if you have installed a tall windshield on it, but you will find the ride to be even more relaxing with one on. Also, I have found the Givi tail box to be extremely useful for locking up my helmet and gloves after the ride, and storing things that I may end up using, such a reusable gr...

Name origin: Ojibwe word misi-ziibi, meaning "Great River", or gichi-ziibi, meaning "Big River" The word Mississippi itself comes from Messipi, the French rendering of the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe or Algonquin) name for the river, Misi-ziibi (Great River). Wikipedia is your friend. T...

National Cycle extra-tall windshield for 2015 PCX
National Cycle has updated their PCX windshield offerings to fit 2015 and later models, so I ordered the extra-tall touring model in the hope that it would reduce the bite of mid-March temperatures here in the upper midwest US. The shield fit perfectly and I completed the installation in around 15 m...

Re: First commute on my new PCX
Your location tag taught me something new today. I'm a fellow Wisconsinite and had no clue that Mississippi meant father of waters. I'm not sure what the First Nations word actually means, but when Abraham Lincoln announced that General Grant had taken the rebel position at Vicksburg, he noted that...

First commute on my new PCX
In spite of the cold (38F/3.3C), I rode my PCX to work for the first time today. Could barely hear the purr of the engine over the chattering of my teeth. The suspension soaked up the potholes and cracks in the pavement, the brakes were up to the job, and I really enjoyed not having to clutch and sh...

Re: From Honda motorcycles to a Honda scooter
Got 37 miles on the odometer, just riding around my neighborhood. I found the cockpit too cramped and performed a "humpectomy", making the perch higher and moving my tailbone aft. I fabricated a completely new cover of marine vinyl, and bought a cheap pneumatic stapler from Harbor Freight ...

Drag racing is the ideal sport for women, the course is only a quarter of a mile long and there are no corners to negotiate.
Keeps it nice and easy for them.
