Re: Question regarding smartkey system

Never actually happened to me, the longest I left the bike is 1 month with alarm. The alarm was disabled because it was low in battery but it left just enough juice for the scoot to be able to start and recharge. So I'm thinking there might be something wrong with your PCX if your battery is flat a...

Re: Got my PCX a naked brother

The top box not only makes the 250 more useful but it also gives you a larger "presence" in traffic. Maybe consider putting some reflective decals or bright colored stickers/reflectors on the sides of the box too? . . .. Top boxes are great because they last forever and you can always tra...

Re: Got my PCX a naked brother

Updates on the 250.. Iv'e installed the rear Givi as having no storage at all is very frustrating. I think it makes the bike a little "ugly" but the benefit of an extra storage room is worth it. Function over form. 84308984_3046331808733065_5598418651188297728_o.jpg 83945761_30463320...

Re: Brake upgrade

I want to revive this thread because I'm trying to find ways to improve the rear drum brake. The brake doesn't feel progressive, it'll feel weak but if you squeeze a little bit then suddenly it'll seem to lock the brake immediately. I want to be able to modulate the braking feel but the rear brake s...

Did you turn on the alarm? It could drain the battery in 3 weeks I think.

Can’t the part remain when you change the clutch?
I cleaned both the clutch and the variator, so I actually need to remove all the parts.

Re: Boss Drive Face stuck

I wonder if they are frozen together due to corrosion. It should just slide off, but if it is corroded it may be fusing. Try something that loosens corrosion. Maybe WD-40?? Whatever you use will have to set before it will work it loose, so leave it overnight after spraying it. Yeah, I was able to r...

Boss Drive Face stuck

Was doing my regular cleaning and maintenance (every 2k) of the drive parts few days ago when I encountered this weird problem. bossDF.jpg The boss is stuck and it won't budge. Iv'e tried using pliers and screw drivers to try and remove it but I failed. Scared to damage something, I sprayed it with ...

Re: 2019 PCX Muffler on an earlier PCX, tested yet?

That's a good project, but I fear that the capital you will spend might not be worth whatever performance effect it'll have. There are slightly modified stock exhaust being sold here in Thai, you might wanna try and find one there. More airflow, a little bit audible than the original, but not loud l...

Re: Should I Replace Stock Tires Early?

When I asked Honda mech herein Thailand, he said I could use the 120/70 on my rear but I should take note that the contact patch on the road will be lesser due to the old pcx narrower wheel of 2.75. The pcx 2019 has 3.15 wide wheel, as far as I can remember. Narrow wheel will squeeze the tire so the...

Re: Minor crash

I went down when I locked my rear brake, so both brakes should be ABS imo. You would have been aware of the rear locking because it will happily skid in a straight line but when a front locks the thing usually goes down instantly with no warning at all. So chances are you locked the front as well w...

Re: Minor crash

ABS should go a long ways towards preventing high-side dismounts which are precipitated by the rear tire losing grip - then suddenly regaining it. This can happen when cornering, and when braking. Simple ABS won't help when cornering too fast - but it will prevent a locked rear wheel in the common ...

Re: Minor crash

ABS will prevent the front wheel from locking. Locking the front wheel will in most cases lead to a crash. If you "grab a handful" of brake with no ABS your front wheel will lock up. How is ABS not the solution? Not the only solution, but A solution. ABS is not a replacement for training,...

your'e right, i'm overthinking it.

Re: Minor crash

The newer model only has abs on the front so you could still lock up the back and drop it. Rear lock is unlikely to cause loss of control, its far easier to control a rear lock than front. Normally when rear locks scooter keeps going in a straight line. Agree, but it seems that the PCX tends to cra...

Re: Minor crash

let me guess, you dropped on the right side of your PCX? Iv'e crashed my PCX last month after 3 years of riding it due to my rear brakes locking too. After the accident, I suddenly started to notice that a high numbers of PCX has signs of side fairings damage due to skidding and brake locking. So, I...

Re: Can I clean the oil filter without removing the oil?

51,000 kms now and I have yet to clean my oil screen. Mech always tells me not to bother.

I might clean it when I can find the time to change the oil myself. Haha
