If you do not like top cases, or mucking with your scoot's wiring - I've used the pulsing halogen tail light/brake bulb from these folks. I use it all the time, don't know how much it saves! It's a good system, usually active once I get a couple of hundred yards into my journey, and when in use there is no delay in firing back up when pulling away.
