Re: 2011 PCX 125 top speed?

Most scooter speedometers (including the Burgmans) read 8-10% optimistic.... the PCX, however, seems to be pretty spot on. You're probably really only going about 72 mph and your wife is close behind at about 68, which is the correct top speed of the 150. My 125 starts to top out at about 55 and som...

Re: Feeling sorry for the PCX 125?

My PCX125 accelerates faster than my chinese 250 did and has about the same top speed. The chino 250 only had 13 hp in a relatively heavy maxi-scooter body. I've ridden a PCX150 and I can definitely tell that the 150 is a bit stronger and feels "beefier"... but my PCX is more than adequate...

Re: movin on up

One of the members in our local scooter club is selling his silver 85 Honda Elite 150 for $800 (asking), but it has 16,000+ miles and is in no where near as nice as yours (nor is it the deluxe model). I've been seriously considering buying it from him, but I need another scooter like I need a DVD re...

Re: Bought New PCX150

The trip should be a piece of cake for the PCX. I run my 125 at full throttle 95% of the time and the rest is between 45-50. 2 PCX 125s rode the Cannonball Run from Georgia to California wide open... in 8 days. I plan on taking mine from Florida to Louisiana on the last weekend of next month with a ...

Interesting incident with the PCX this morning...

I pulled the PCX out of the garage this morning and went to turn the key to the seat/fuel cap open position and accidentally turned it all the way to full ignition. I quickly turned it back, but before I opened the seat, I had remembered that I may have possibly left my helmet in the Burgman... so I...

Re: A green picture of George Washington

I have the 125 and I too got the the survey along with the dollar bill. To be honest, I almost would have felt a little guilty to have spent the dollar and not filled out the survey. I figured they were nice enough to take the time to send me a crisp dollar bill, I could sacrifice a few minutes to f...

Re: What is your cage?

Jason, The first Kias actually had very good engines in them, they started out with Mazda engines and then Kia designed it's own engine in house (the 1.8L that was used in the 98+ Sephia and perhaps a version of this engine is in the Sportage as well) and they are darn near indestructible. After tha...

Re: Topic 1,000 !!

I just hit 1,000 miles on my PCX the other day as well. I'd like to ride a 150 just to feel the difference in power, just out of curiosity as my 125 is plenty for the type of riding I use it for. I've been wanting to add a 3rd scooter to my collection, but something along the lines of a Vespa GTS300...

That is a shame... I was really looking forward to seeing what Honda would do with the next gen Silverwing to better compete against the new Burgman 650 which just underwent a nice major redesign for 2013.

Re: MSF Basic Rider Course

You are now required to take the MSF coarse in Florida...the DMV test is taken at the school and all you have to do at DMV is pick up your new lisence with the motorcylcle endorsement on it, the school takes care of the rest. It runs about $200 on average. They don't give motorcycle learners permits...

The MSF courses here in Central Florida also offer scooters (none larger than a 150)... so it may be/become standard practice across the board.

Re: How long you been riding?

I started off on a POS 50cc chinese scooter back in July of 2011 (I was 29), quickly followed by a 150 chinese scooter and then a 250...all within about 3 weeks of eachother. I was pretty satisfied with the 250 (Puma Apollo, just another no-name chinese brand) until I started joining local scooter c...

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?

I think 70-75 would be the ideal top speed to make the PCX a good DO ALL commuter, being able to tackle freeways and interstates. However, I am perfectly satisfied with the 60mph top speed of my PCX because I very seldom have to take it faster than 50 mph on the roads that I ride it on.

Re: Cable or Satellite for Best Customer satisfaction?

Brighthouse cable has always been good to me in terms of customer service, and I haven't had any issues with their services... however, I've heard a lot of people complain about satellite (not so much the customer service as much as the service itself). Everyone will have a different experience... (...

Re: ? for PCX150 owners

The Kymco People 200 is technically a 163, I believe... but is only rated at 11 hp. That is exactly the output of my 125... though the People does have a smidgen more torque. In any case, I can run with him with no problem. The Piaggio Fly 150 is also rated at 11 hp. The PCX150 has 13 hp (or it may ...

Re: ? for PCX150 owners

The PCX (even the 125) will do everything you say you need it to do... I doubt you'd be disappointed. In terms of small scoots under 200cc, I find it to be one of the best values in the lacking US market. It is more powerful than the typical 150, larger frame, it is liquid cooled, fuel injected, has...
