Re: PCX Ride from NJ to CA - Part I
Too many people spend most of their lives in cubicles behind glass windows and don't have the opportunity to feel the nature as one does on a motorcycle riding through all those conditions. And, some of us have little or no desire to. :) For me, riding is almost exclusively a late-Spring through ea...

Re: PCX Ride from NJ to CA - Part I
On two wheels, I normally travel no farther than 15 miles from home. On four wheels, I'm squirming in my seat after 150-300 miles. Much farther and I'd rather be between two wings even though I hate flying. However, I commend the thread starter for his bravery and would enjoy the adventure vicarious...

Re: Development of 2018 (2019 in the US) PCX and PCX HYBRID
1. I don't know if the weight of the rollers is different, but the part number is. 22123-K01-900 ($21.95) for 2015-2018 and 22123-KWN-780 ($10.30) for 2019. 2. The part numbers for the fixed and movable drive faces are also different. Considering this and the above, I suspect some slight differences...

Development of 2018 (2019 in the US) PCX and PCX HYBRID
Honda published the attached research paper a few months ago revealing some details on the all-new fourth-generation PCX including changes to the frame, wheels, and engine along with a description of the hybrid model (not available in the US). While the new model may appear similar at first glance t...

Re: New belt making slight squeal low speed
as belt was ready to rip apart as it was cracked everywhere and wouldn't go past 60mph... Belt in bad condition has no effect on the speed of your bike... A worn belt will absolutely limit top speed. The sliding half of the pulley on the variator can only move a limited distance. As the belt wears ...

Re: Factory tires out of round on 2019 PCX
I had that thought as well, but the service manager said tire beads are sized so when they are initially inflated they self-align on the bead ledge and can't be eccentric unless defective.gn2 wrote:Tyres probably not fitted correctly.
Chances are they'll take the tyres off then fit them back on.

Factory tires out of round on 2019 PCX
I bought a new 2019 PCX a couple of months ago that now has 638 miles on it. Since day one, it had a significant vibration that could be felt predominantly from the rear at around 40-50 MPH. It was enough to make my voice quiver and I could see the rear wheel/suspension vibration a bit when riding b...

THANK GOODNESS I saw this thread before I reinstalled the cylinder head cover on my 2019 PCX follow a valve clearance inspection and adjustment at 631 miles. I'm "OCD" about doing things exactly per the instructions (including torque values). I was unable to find a torque specification spe...

Re: New member, with a question
I had a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250 that would maintain 75-80 MPH on the freeway all day long and top out at just over 100 MPH. The little parallel twin sure did buzz and vibrate at those speeds, though.gn2 wrote:.....you need something around 500-650ccvito wrote:where traffic routinely is traveling 75 or 80 mph......

Ok, ok. I get it . Can't help you then. Try eBay, keep searching online. Bug Honda Dealer? Re: 2019 PCX150 600-mile valve clearances
***NOTICE*** After spending several hours disassembling and reassembling my 2019 PCX the past few days to inspect and adjust the valve clearance now that I've passed 600 miles, I just learned that the interval has increased on the 2019 PCX to every 4,000 miles instead of 600 miles and every 2,500 m...

Re: How-To: Valve Adjustment for Honda PCX
LOL it depends on which side of the bike you are working the rotation from. The SM has you turning clockwise with a socket wrench on the crankshaft. But its hard to see the timing marks when you're on the other side of the bike working alone. That's why I turned the crank with the finned flywheel i...

Re: 2019 PCX150 600-mile valve clearances
I watched the YouTube video demonstrating valve clearance adjustment on the 2015 (which I assume also applies to the 2014 and possibly 2011-2013?). A couple of differences I noted are: 1. The two bolts you mentioned and that can be seen on the YouTube video do not apply to the 2019. 2. The battery b...

Re: 2019 PCX150 600-mile valve clearances
If the valves are too loose (too much clearance), they can be noisy.
If the valves are too tight (too little clearance), they can burn.
If they're too loose or too tight, the engine may not run smoothly and be down on power or fuel economy.

Re: How-To: Valve Adjustment for Honda PCX
turn the crankshaft COUNTER CLOCKWISE until the index mark and the cutout on the fan line up... Just to clarify, that's counterclockwise if turning the crankshaft from the left side using the nut. If turning the crankshaft on the right side using the fins on the radiator fan, you turn clockwise. If...

2019 PCX150 600-mile valve clearances
My PCX passed 600 miles recently so I decided to check the valve clearances. The intake was 0.003" (on the tight side of the spec which is 0.003" to 0.005"). The exhaust was 0.007" (too tight - the spec is 0.008" to 0.010"). I ran out of time last night, but I plan to a...

Re: New member, with a question
I have a new 2019 and used 2018 - each with about 550 miles. The 2018 tops out at about 65 MPH on flat roads with no headwind. The 2019 will almost reach 70. On a slight grade they won't gain above about 50-55 MPH and will lose speed on higher grades, but will maintain 40-45 MPH even up steep hills....

What do you mean? That's my PCX - I have to hang it from the ceiling because my garage is full.iceman wrote:is your avatar supposed to be upside down?

Re: How long does it take for the engine oil to warm up?
This thread makes me feel a little better about leaving home on my PCX's. My 100'-long driveway is perpendicular to a 50 MPH, two-lane state highway on a slight curve where most traffic flows at 55-60+ MPH. My instinct tells me no more than half-throttle up to about 30-45 MPH for a few minutes befor...

Re: Noise on back wheel or clutch
I have a noise on rear wheel, what could.it be? https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKyva5rF4GwWUrFcyYSDiLSyo_7jL5Z1V Both my new 2019 and 437-mile 2018 sound about like that when turning the rear wheel by hand - maybe not quite as loud, but certainly not silent! There's no play or knocking when...
