Re: This is me!
RobV, I notice that you have your yellow bag held in place by what looks like a bungee cord. Fair warning that they don't hold well where you have them attached. I did a modification to my PCX that you should be able to do, with some disassembling of the bike. You may find this interesting, and it ...

This is me!
I've just joined the forum. I'm in my late 50s, semi-retired. I live & ride in Melbourne Australia. My cruiser was stolen & I've always loved scooters so bought a red 2012 PCX150. As much as I loved my cruiser I'd forgotten how much fun riding can be. The PCX is light, nimble, fun and ridicu...

Re: PCX 2014 - clutch bearing issue progress
RobV... Which bearings exactly did you purchase? I'd like to get the best choice, too, so I only have to buy & install once.... I bought the NTN bearings. Fitting them required some specialist bearing removal tools (or a very clever mechanic - mine is an ex aircraft engineer). If you had to pay...

Re: Checking Valve Clearances WITHOUT Removing Body Panels
It's not the years, it's the mileage JohnL :-) I'm currently 56 but the war wounds stack up after a while. In the mean time I expect to do about 20,000km per year which includes at least one 400km round trip each month which is why I'm a bit OCD about servicing. I'd revisit the topic once yours gets...

oil change frequency
I did search but couldn't find relevant posts... Manual says every 8000km. For such a tiny engine with a tiny sump & no filter (just a strainer) spinning so hard that seems like a lot. Many other scooters want oil every 3000 or so (Kymco Like 150 wants oil every 3000 or 2000 if you live in Oz). ...

Re: Checking Valve Clearances WITHOUT Removing Body Panels
I took my PCX to the dealers on Wednesday for a service. The manager asked me if I had ever had the valves checked, I said not to my knowledge as I've always taken it to them for servicing. He suggested it may be a good idea to have them checked, and quoted me $400 just for the valve check and adju...

Re: Checking Valve Clearances WITHOUT Removing Body Panels
Top quality discovery. I wonder if you could do it on the ground and winch the rear of the bike up? That's how it was done on the pic I saw on here, so yes. I'm not sure what they attached the winch to. With the weight still on the center stand I was a bit worried about what happens if you go too f...

There is a location in my profile already. The email I used is a temporary one which will cease to exist in the next 12 months. I can't reuse my proper email address because it's "already in use" from previous attempts to join.

Re: PCX 2014 - clutch bearing issue progress
My thinking is that new bearings were introduced because the ones currently in service were crap given it's a known problem with the PCX. The Schaeffler/NSK bearing combination would have cost me about $25. I went for the more expensive NTN/NTN @about $40 in total. The whole assembly would have cost...

Re: been quiet - had some brake issues
Any chance of some more details of how to get at the CBS reservoir? Is it just a matter of the cover being stiff to remove?

Re: How-To: Valve Adjustment for Honda PCX
Is it possible to check valve clearances without removing the entire body? it seems like a massive job for something that needs to be done regularly. I've seen one pic (unable to re-find it) where the rear shocks were disconnected and the engine pivoted into view - most of the body seemed still atta...

Re: PCX 2014 - clutch bearing issue progress
The parts catalogue (thanks to whoever posted that) shows two options for each of the clutch bearings. On the needle bearing theres NTN or SCHAEFFLER. With the radial ball bearing there's NTN or NSK. Is this to address known issues? Which is the better option? Apologies if this is a repeat question,...

Re: PCX 2014 - clutch bearing issue progress
My trusty 14 reg LED PCX has had the noisy clutch bearing problem for well over a year now. Having bought a new driven pulley and other parts to service the bike I've had no luck loosening the variator nut until today. Last time I tried with a homemade tool I managed to bend several 6mm bolts rathe...

Hi, I've been trying to gain access to this forum for months. Firstly I didn't get the registration confirmation email and everything I tried came back with "contact the board administrator," problem is that you can't contact the board administrator without logging in. I've re-registered u...
