Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

Jwm78, Good pics of a great buying experience of a great scoot in Buckeyeland😉. I’m really pleased with the look, quality, and performance of mine so far as well. 200+ miles so far. Look forward to more of your thoughts & reviews..and pics too! Cheers, ~ST

Jwm78, Great to see your performance review. It’ll be interesting to see what GPS mph looks like. I’m 2021 owner too and more people may see your interesting posts on the thread dedicated to 2021 PCX owners . Cheers from a fellow Buckeye. ~ST

Re: 2021 PCX’s arriving at U.S. Honda dealers!

Congrats! Jwm78 on your new PCX. It’s good to see another “Buckeye” in Ohio chime in with positive vibes. There’s also a separate thread for new 2021 PCX owners if you want to share any thoughts, reviews, or ride experiences. I read somewhere that performance may be a bit better with the Traction Co...

Re: 2021 PCX’s arriving at U.S. Honda dealers!

Like most things, I’ve found that making a car, motorcycle, or scooter choice is mostly a personal and subjective one. I’ve appreciated what you’ve posted ezrider and wish I lived close enough to offer you a test ride…never know, that may have done it!😉 Good luck on your search, and stay plugged in ...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

Went for a morning 75 mile ride today on the new PCX. Other than awareness of the seat hump it was a great ride. I’m really pretty impressed with the IRC tires..especially when compared to the Kymco Like’s 12” Chengshin tires. The IRC 14”/13” tires really grip and handle very well..and they track st...

ezrider, the front IRC tire is model #SCT-106 , the rear is model # SCT-107. The only website I’ve found with any info on this tire is:

Re: 2021 PCX’s arriving at U.S. Honda dealers!

I saw the comments about “pop start”. I saw where on the 2021 PCX Honda mounted an electronically controlled ‘starter/alternator’ directly on the end of the crankshaft. It spins the engine directly on startup without any gears meshing or “cranking noise”. Once running it reverts to being an alternat...

Re: Top box mount

Curtpcx125, You’re right about the 4 permanent threaded mounting holes already installed on all PCX’s under the small plate. For a Givi topbox, there are a left and right metal topbox mount, each with 2 long extended legs that need to mount thru the small plate that has been drilled to allow that. D...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

I only gave a cursory look a the IRC tires..they look good, good tread wrap around, and the tread compound didn’t feel hard. I remember the stock hard compound Dunlops on my 2007 Yamaha Majesty were terrible in the wet. I changed them out with Pirelli Diablos. That tire would stick well on any surfa...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

2nd short PCX ride review…only managed to get a 30 min. ride in while running errands today but it was great. After 5 min. of riding on some familiar local roads I caught myself thinking simply..WOW! This new scoot has it where it counts in my book. Some things I noticed: The throttle response is in...

Re: Top box mount

Curtpcx125, Today I just bought a 2021 PCX here in the U.S. I have the Givi PCX mount that fits previous years and it looks like it will fit m 2021. I’m going to have to make my own template to drill the 4 holes in the little plastic top plate, but the Givi mount holes do line up perfectly. Hope to ...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

Happy to say I rode my new 2021 PCX home today..30 or so miles. Not a lot of time or miles but enough for initial impressions as I’ve never ridden any PCX previously. A quick review of initial impressions: 1. Build quality looks top notch. Fit & finish look great, controls naturally placed, nice...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

Jge64 - I think you’re right-on about scooter practicality and ease of parking. I can get 4-6 bags of groceries in my Kymco between under the seat and the topbox. Cruising the countryside on my motorcycle is great too…if not much traffic. But I grew to really dislike commuting on my m/c in city traf...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

No worries ezrider! I think most m/c riders feel a bit strange when first riding a scooter..I know I did! The first couple times I went to use the rear brake I felt like I should be pulling in the clutch. It really doesn’t take long to get accustomed to riding scoots. Saddle-time and muscle memory a...

Re: 2021 PCX’s arriving at U.S. Honda dealers!

Mrags89 - really glad to hear that ..looks like I will be as well. I stopped at my dealer and took a look at the PCX as it’s being prepped. One difference I noticed between our 2 scoots was the parking brake. I saw in your pic that yours has the “brake lock” knob below the ignition, and I noticed th...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

Ezrider- As you’ve been a motorcycle-only owner till now, I’m wondering if you’ve had any chances to ride or test scooters? Or will this be your first experience riding a scooter? I know for me the experiences are different in many ways. Motorcycles require more attention to the actual operation of ...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

The pending arrival of my 2021 PCX this week already has me thinking of things I want to compare and critique. I have owner experience with 2 scooters: My first was a 2007 Yamaha Majesty 400 maxi-scoot that I had for several years. That beast was a single cyl. dual overhead cam, 34 hp. freeway mile-...
