Sold my 2011 PCX 125cc, a couple of thoughts post ownership.

Sad yet happy day for me on Sunday the 12th of July, 2015. I sold my purchased new 2011 Honda PCX 125cc scooter. for 1700 cash. Just turned over 13,000 miles. I had it for sale since March, Took a long time to get any offers above 1600. Tons of low balls claiming my mileage was the main reason. Coup...

Yes bring the ads. They run all things we do in life. Something has to pay for them. Ads on websites are a given nowadays. The most annoying ones are the auto play sounds and video.

Re: Valve adjustment

Reading on the forum here, several people mention that a bad valve is "noticeable". What exactly are the symptoms for a bad valve to the PCX150? It'd be nice to keep an open eye/ear Usually it is loss of power, and/or poor fuel mileage. You may also notice a different sound than normal th...

Re: Short-term storage of my PCX

Just a thought, The newer Asian model PCX's had a alarm system on it, that was armed when parked. If yours has this. Then the month long storage may be long enough for the alarm system to drain the battery. If not, then nothing to do storage wise, except nail it down, cover it, and hope no one jacks...

Re: Initial service

Huh? Keep the receipts of products you bought to do the service, and keep a log, date and what you did. Done.

Go USA!

Whoever told you the warranty would become invalid if you didn't service at the dealer, lied to you.

Re: The left turn light hates me

Here in Illinois, I get to wait three minutes which is a lifetime if you are sitting there knowing it will not turn green. Then I blow the light according to the drivers test manual I read... once... after I failed  So yes read the law and maybe you can run the light in your state after a set ...

Re: Motor Oil Question

I agree with your statement. In the country of origin, Thailand. I've read that finding 30 weight oils is near impossible, and with the heat they experience, 40 weights make more sense, as the engine was designed to use either viscosity.

Re: Motor Oil Question

In Honda PCX 150 manual there is a chart that actually tells you to switch from 10W-30 to 10W-40 once the average atmospheric temperature gets beyond about 50 F. It doesn't get clearer than that. It should just about end the viscosity discussion (but I bet it doesn't ). Of course it tells one ...

Re: Rotella t 5 oil

I have heard some scooter riders say the Mobil 1 full synthetic is suppose to be great. Anyone used it in your scooter? I ran Mobil 1 AFE 0w-30. And Mobil 1 10w-30. Both ran for 2000 miles. (my current OCI) Didn't notice a difference. I pretty much try a different oil each change, just for the sake...

Re: Motor Oil Question

If you Google the JASO MA rating system, you will see that it is a measure of transfer of friction, or rather the oil's ability to transfer mechanical energy. This is mostly focused on oil bathed clutch systems. "wet clutch". MB is the lowest of the low, pretty much any oil that falls out ...

Re: Looking at getting a Forza!

In the USA, It sure is legal.

It is safe if done properly. Most common are MSR and Rotopax fuel canisters. They even have hardware to mount to a motorcycle.

you should check out ADVrider.com and see how those guys do it. Crazy!

Re: HONDA HP4M oil @ 1K miles

It was a rhetorical question 'you you'. The fact the OP is changing oil at such low intervals is a tactic us filterless PCX guys use to control excess oil partical contamination, which exacerbates wear on the engine. Since the Forza has a proper oil filter, the risk of partical wear on the engine is...

Re: HONDA HP4M oil @ 1K miles

Does the Forza have an oil filter? Color means very little. Do a Used Oil Analysis, cost is 25-30 USD. And find out the truth of how the engine and oil is holding up. I'm from the new generation, that follows science, data and doesn't listen to just "anyone" Go find your answers yourself a...

What dasshreddar said. I've confirmed from another post a while ago. This is a winter project for me. I know its a safety feature for most, but my daily use, I am having double the engine wear (start up) on the machine. And I have the 2011 model, with the known weak center stand hinge/engine case cr...

Re: any idea

Its because of the drive belt wearing down. As it wears it affects the gearing. I think the change interval is 12500 miles. When you fit a new belt your top speed will increase. This. Interval is 15,000 miles here in the USA. I changed mine at 10k, along with new tires, was back up to the pcx125cc ...

Battery still in PCX, but I clipped some leads and ran to my battery tender switch. Storeage included filling tank with premium(least amount of ethanol) and marine grade stabil (blue) and putting the stand on a block of wood, to protect against salt water from car. aired the tires to proper spec. Re: Okay to run Premium gas in PCX150

So much miss information in this thread. YES you can run premium. NO it will do nothing for your PCX. and potentially lower your MPG's (slightly) due to lower BTU's in the fuel. Depending on location the % of ethanol is different per grade, up to the national allowed 10% (E-10) Even premium has some...

YES! ONCE! At the 600 mile oil change. Never again. I checked at 2500, 5000, and 8000. NOTHING! I suspect it never will again, unless the engine begins to break apart internally. I'll be pulling the strainer again at 15,000 miles. I'm at 12,500 now Haven't checked since 8000. If nothing at 15,000 I'...
