Re: ? for PCX150 owners

Here's a video that shows how a Thai rider can go as fast as 118 km indicated on his brand new Honda PCX 150 (400 km on the clock). I have never been even close (110 max on my ride). Maybe it's just that I'm bigger and the wind resistance is higher.

Re: ? for PCX150 owners

I have a PCX 150. It cruises comfortably at 50-55 (80-90 km/h). 60 mph (95-97 km/h) is achievable, but the bike struggles to keep it. Top speed is 65 mph (104-107 km/h). My PCX is still breaking in (about 850 km on the clock). I hope it will loosen up after I've done some 2000-3000 km on her. So, I'...

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?

Mine goes only just under 100 km/h indicated easily. Top speed has never gone beyond 110 km/h. Normal cruising speed is 90 km/h, which the PCX can maintain quite effortlessly. While I ride alone, I feel safe and comfortable all the time. When two-up, potholes and irregularities of the surface tend t...

Re: Traded in my old Wave for a new PCX150

My PCX 150 has now about 700 km on the clock, so I tried how fast it would go. It was a little bit disappointing, but consistent with my experience riding other Honda scooters of similar size. Two-up it was hard to go over 100 km/h indicated, but it could do an occasional 110 indicated on flat groun...

Re: How fast would you want to go on your PCX 125/150?

80 miles per hour would be nice. It's almost equal to 130 km/h that the SH300 goes. Even that is sometimes not enough on the open road. The faster the merrier.

Re: Honda vs Givi Accessories

Big weights on the racks of lightweight bikes is a proven recipe for thoroughly evil handling. Honda say 10kg but hey-ho wtf do they know about designing, producing and selling ptw's. ------------------- Honda knows how to design good scooters and such but they also know how to avoid civil liabilit...

Re: Honda vs Givi Accessories

For what it's worth, the flimsy plastic construction of ALL of them is why the load limit for a topbox is so small. If the mounting options were like Taz's rack, you could easily put 2 or 3 times that weight on there. ------------------ I don't think there's anything flimsy about this rack. It look...

It's always nice to see pictures. Keep them coming.

The photo with the two PCX's on a boat reminds me of a trip years ago to Ko Si Chang (near Sri Racha, Chonburi). The PCX is capable of touring but still tiny enough to take to an island on a small boat. A 300 cc Forza wouldn't fit any more, I guess.

Re: Mauiwowie

I like the black color and the black seat.

Mine has a red wine seat, which brings a minor problem. I guess the dye in my pants wears off and soils the bright colored seat with gray tarnish. I have to keep it clean regularly with wax polish.

Re: Honda vs Givi Accessories

There must be at least three different rear racks available. One is from Kivi (with the "ugly brackets"). Honda has a plastic rack that needs an adapter plate (from Kivi; as seen in my post above), and an all metal one that mounts Honda's own topbox directly (no adapter needed). I guess th...

Think he hit a pothole, or did he just lose control and end up going down? ----------------- I think it was a hit-and-run situation. I suppose there was a car, or two cars, overtaking simultaneously from opposite directions. One of those cars must have given way so as not to get hit themselves. Thi...

Re: to AVOID on the road

^ I was riding my Honda Phantom with my wife on the pillion. We stopped, of course, but as soon as we did that there was a pick-up truck that came out of the blue and collected the body. They were in no hurry, so I thought he must have been dead already. They told us there was no need for us to do a...

PCX lights

The PCX 150 sold in Thailand uses what seems to me a little bit old technology as headlamps, I think. The lights have conventional incandescent bulbs, not the H4 type (halogen). They are usable, but not what I would call bright. I've never seen or had a bike here with more modern headlights. And I'v...

Re: to AVOID on the road

Here in Thailand you should avoid potholes, especially when it's dark. Moreover, you should beware of stray dogs and ghost riders with no lights on. Overtaking cars cannot effectively be avoided, but should be watched in the rear mirror. I have stumbled into a snake crossing the road a few times. On...
