Understood. I started the topic. So I should know. I just forgot because I was focused on my current mistake.

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

I just bought oil to change it myself. I'm too busy working a minimum wage job to help with college to drive my scooter 45 miles away for a 125 dollar service when they oil only costs 6.25 for me to do myself. The reason is this dealership charges like 80 an hour for labor I agree with that. It's a...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

I reckon if its one of the two bolts on the flat side it could be OK. If its one of the bolts on the side with the other side I wouldn't risk it. You'll know very quickly if its leaking, just stick your hand up from underneath and have a feel around. The biggest broblem will be getting access for a...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

I'd use extreme caution. You could experience a catastrophic loss of oil from that gasket failing with improper force holding it in place. I'd order a replacement and wait to ride until afterwards. :) If I read your post right, you need part number 95701-06022-00, on this microfiche: http://www.mrc...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

I tightened one of the bolts on the gasket too much. The result was the bolt splitting in half. So i need to go buy a new one and replace asap. which brings another question. Will I be fine to ride it with the remaining piece of the bolt stuck on the gasket cover hole? or will a leak or issue occur...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

Glad to hear you got it figured out. :) When I bought my first scooter, I got it home and couldn't get it started. I was so pissed. I called the seller angrily asking what the heck, he sold me a bum bike, etc... He asked if I had the kickstand down... I did. I was so embarrassed. You're not the fir...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

Congrats! Knowing you can DIY is liberating. Hope you have some good riding weather when you get it back in one piece! Thanks! It does feel great being able to DIY. This week has started with Thunderstorms each day. I was able to ride it up and down the street to test it. It runs smooth and I'm gla...

Can you tell if the click is a mechanical click from metal on metal, or a click from a motor not spinning up?

Clicking sounds like metal on metal. Is this normal noise with all the panels off the pcx?

Was your engine in TDC (top dead center) when you did the valve adjustment? Can you tell if the click is a mechanical click from metal on metal, or a click from a motor not spinning up? So I got it to start. The reason it wasnt starting before was because I had the side kick stand down. smh. lol Bu...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

Also, I did disconnect the battery and left it sitting over night with the battery disconnected. I reconnect the battery and did a battery test. Battery is fully charged and good. Just no idea why it wont start now. I have 1200 miles on it and this is the first valve job being dont on the pcx. Thanks.

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

You're in GA, use the 10w40. I live in Marietta, so I'm only a couple of hours from you. My PCX has been through the gnarly, potholed streets of Savannah and Tybee many a time though, fun times. :) My valves were off-adjustment from the factory, you should check them for sure. Make sure the bike si...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

On my pcx only took about 5 minutes to adjust the valves 8) On a stock pcx maybe an hour...(take all the panels off and stuff). :x  probably not alot of difference between 10-40 and 10-30, in theory 10-30 should give better gas mileage. And 10-40 should give better heat protection, if I lived ...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

It would be best to change the oil and check your valves. If you've done this to a car, it is even easier on the PCX ;) :ugeek: 10w-30 4 stroke oil and adjust intake valve to .004 and exhaust valve to .009 Thanks for the response. I literally just changed the oil. I used Valvoline Motorcycle 4 stro...

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

Thank you again for your response. What would you recommend for the type of oil I use? (ex. Brand) I believe your right about them quoting me for the valves as well. I will let them do that adjustment on the valves. The valves aren't being loud at the moment. *knock on wood* Just checked both links....

Re: New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

Thanks khaosaming! I will try and get that done today after work. I wonder why they were telling me it would cost me $250 for parts and labor on the first service if it's just an oil change? Hope they weren't trying to pull a fast one on me.

Thanks again khaosaming!

New Buyer/Owner of PCX150

Hello, Got my PCX about 2 months ago. I love it! It is my only method of transportation. I mainly use it to commute to and from work. I know I was suppose to get my first service at 800 miles. (What the salesmen at Honda told me.) I'm now at 1025 miles. The hours the dealership is open and the hours...
