Re: Long Commute

Like most said you can certainly do it although after awhile the comfort level might get to you. I still have my PCX 150 but I'm going to sell it. I bought a 2009 Silverwing and I love it. I have no problem with it in town or on the highway. I can tell you my husband and I took a trip down to Spring...

Parting is sweet sorrow.

Well for almost a year now I have been talking that the PCX was too small for my needs. In January I found a good deal on a used 2009 Silver Wing with only 2126 miles on it. I picked it up from storage March 11th. Since then I have logged over a 1000 miles on it. I have taken the PCX out a time or t...

Re: Who uses GPS/Earphones?

For the past year I have been using speakers that are made for helmets. They plug into your headphone jack on your phone. I use mine for music on long rides. Since they don't fit in your ear they are better because you can still hear the road around you. For my new helmet I have a bluetooth unit so ...

Re: Days are numbered for my PCX

I tried the Forza and I really wanted to like it but it just didn't fit me or the hubby. A Sliver Wing was right there and I sat on it and I was amazed that it fit me much better. I've seen some good deals on the Silver Wings. A place up in Wisconsin had a new 2013 for $6999 normally $9270 but the d...

Days are numbered for my PCX

I have to say I love my PCX and with a couple of days above 40 degrees I was able to take it out. Sorry I'm a wimp when it comes to riding it in the cold. especially since I don't have a windshield. It felt great in December to take it out for about a 45 min ride before I had to head back because it...

Re: NEWS FLASH!!! 2015 US Model reads out in Imperial (UK)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that their 2013 gets only about 77-86 mpg. Does the 2015 have a higher top end then the 2013? I only get 62 mph on a good day with no wind.

Re: PCX 2014/5 - 12v outlet fuse rating for tyre inflator

Hey iceman, I have this 12v inflator: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200328573_200328573 that I hook up to the SAE lead (that's always connected) & coming off my battery terminals. That lead came with :) my Optimate Battery tender/charger. I also have a Battery Tender Jr. from a...

Re: How cold will you ride?

I will ride around 50 degrees but not much below that. I did pick up some winter gauntlet gloves and they make a huge difference. My fingers are warmer but because they are gauntlets it keeps the wind out of my jacket so the rest of me is warmer as well. I want to get a full helmet but I have a 3/4 ...

Re: Pants for well built men...

I have the same problem but in my case I'm a heavier woman and even men's clothing doesn't fit. I ordered a 5X and it didn't fit me. and I don't wear a 5X in clothes. In the areas it might have fit other areas not so much. I can't afford having my gear custom made. I need to go a diet it too but it'...

Re: Broke my left leg, gear ideas?

In each of those times I've asked it gear would have helped and in each case the answer was no. I did have boots, gloves, leather jacket, jeans and a helmet. I only have a leather jacket because I can't find gear with armor to fit me, and believe me I have tried. The last two times the jacket was s...

Re: Motorcycle Clubs

I have to say these are a different class of people. No one there shows off. It might be the age of the group of riders too. They're all at least mid 30's and up. One of the rider is a motorcycle cop. They usually stay at the speed limit, maybe 5 over. Although falls can happen even if it is only 2 ...

Re: First service.

I took my scooter for my 600 miles and the valve clears was off but they said not by much. Right now it's in the shop for another oil change but I didn't do it at 2500 like I should have. It's not under warranty any more so I took it in with over 4100 miles on it. Even the dealership thought that ev...

Re: Motorcycle Clubs

My husband joined a motorcycle club called the Chicago Cruisers. He signed me up as well. I was really hesitant about going because I thought they would make fun of my little 153cc scooter. They're a great group of men and women who ride. They have everything in the club there is a Silver wing, two ...

Re: I can ride again!

That's great that you are up and riding again. I started out with short trips with both my broken foot and then after I broke my shoulder. I felt the vibrations much more with my shoulder then I did with my foot. So I would start just riding to my husbands work and back which was 3 miles away. My hu...

Re: Broke my left leg, gear ideas?

I hope that you are feeling better Valiant. I see that I missed this posting. I have had a couple accidents and I have asked the same thing if more protective gear would have helped me and every answer has been no. The first time I broke my foot I was at the MFS course in the beginning of the 3rd da...

Re: reflective tape... now you see it

Actually they have reflective tape in all different colors including black. I think it would be easier to apply black then find the right coor red for the red scooters. You can also apply these reflective tape to jackets and helmets.

Wow Homey I heard about a bank robbery on the news the other day. Was it the one where the teller was shot? I'm glad that you weren't there. Out in my neck of the woods we never have anything like that happen. Heck the police go around and check to see if your car doors are open, if you have somethi...

Re: Battery Life for a PCX 150

Mine is a year old and I have had it sit for over a month with no issues. You could always install a battery tender and put it on a trickle charger in between rides. I bought one at Walmart for $16http://www.walmart.com/ip/Schumacher-XM ... p/15140193
