Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
... Scene, the polini was my favourite Variator but when I got the PCX I kept it simple given the added power and went with the cheapest option (NCY). 6k miles no issues yet. Keep in mind the Powerband is 8k+ so the quicker you get it to 8,000rpms and keeping the RPMS hovering around there is ...

Re: Polini high speed variator....... crap
I run 10.25G Dr Pulley sliders in my NCY Variator. (61.5G total) I would say run the stock contra Spring and run the 10G rollers in the Polini. If you get your top speed back, but you lose acceleration what you can start to do is lighten 4 ...

Re: Final drive gear tooth count?
... You definitely bought the wrong bike. You need a 200+cc bike, recommended 300cc+ But let's stick to the title at hand. My 2017 PCX 159cc with NCY Variator and Driveface, open intake and exhaust, bigger diameter tires and a good amount of CVT tuning hits the limiter at 77mph. Run 10.25 weights ...

Re: Hit 80 mph on my 2013 PCX (164 lbs rider, tucked, drafting behind behind truck)
Have you ever compared the original speedo to a GPS and see if its accurate?
Either way great MPH. I can bounce the limiter at 78. NCY Variator, 10.25g sliders, stock belt. My speedo reads due to the larger tires. Drafting makes a HUGE difference. Im guessing not drafting you are back at 75-77mph?

Re: First impressions of NCY variator, drive face &13g rollers
Tried the 17 gram Dr Pulley sliders 6 or 7 years ago. My experience was fine for about 7-8 thousand miles and then not so much. The variator center [part that rides the boss] opened up[widened] ....decided that was enough and went back to rollers ever since. Some have a good experience with them.......

Re: PCX average mpg
... the CTX700 & NC700/750 will get around the same MPG at those speeds, plus it can hit 100+ mph if that's your cup of tea. I assume you have the NCY drive face and variator setup with 13g weights to get those kind of speeds? Anything else? Maybe an extra tall windshield?

@ScooterMan,
Do you happen to remember the part numbers of the parts you installed?
Has anyone tried using Dr. Pulley sliders instead of rollers? If so, which ones.

Re: First impressions of NCY variator, drive face &13g rollers
Just picked up a new to me 2013 PCX. Replaced the rear bearing face and new tires going on today. Debating on the NCY upgrades and wanting to know if upgrading reduces mpg or not. Nice to have the extra speed if needed, but my plans are not to ride really any faster than 62. Worth the $125 or not?

Re: 2017 PCX150 Belt damaged 3 times on highway
... I follow on Youtube, Quasimotard, had a similar issue with his 2016. He believes it was from using an aftermarket variator. In his case it was a NCY. Do you know if your mechanic replaced the variator when you had the belt changed? If he did, going back to a stock unit might fix the issue.

Re: NCY Clutch, S23 Variator Help Needed
I ended up just replacing all the stock parts. It runs much better, quieter and smoother. I haven't had a chance to check top speed yet but I'm sure it will be back to about 65 mph.

NCY Clutch, S23 Variator Help Needed
... about mods. Ultimate question will be - How do I get this back to running like stock. I bought an ADV150 second hand. The first owner installed an NCY clutch and an S23 variator with whatever weight rollers come with it. As a result the scooter will run up to about 71 or 72 MPH BUT it is loud. ...

Re: First impressions of NCY variator, drive face &13g rollers
@ScooterMan,
I've got a new for me 2018 PCX150 that I'll be riding in the Scooter Cannonball next year. What (if any) drivetrain modifications would you recommend? I'm 5' 10" and 175 without gear.
Thanks.

Re: First impressions of NCY variator, drive face &13g rollers
I'm BACK!! Picked up another PCX after having 3 in the past. Of course I already knew I would be doing the NCY variator and Drive face with 13g rollers that I championed on here 8 years ago. However, After installing the setup yesterday on my used 2015 with 2900 miles, I was ...

... roads. It does quite well there because it was built for there. Still, if you want to run at 80 mph get a windshield, and wax the bike. I have the NCY setup on my bike plus Michelin City Grip tires, and it is happy, and I have a tail box, so I don't think it is interfering with anything, should ...
