Re: Hello all! New PCX owner with couple of questions! :)

I agree with all of the ideas given here. For myself I try to park near to much more expensive, or more vulnerable bike or scooter when out and about. At home I park behind a 4x4 so it cant be seen from the road. It's also covered so people that might see it would have no idea what scooter it is and...

Re: For those who have modded their seat hump

The only real problem I have with the seat is the accumulation of water after even a small amount of rain. I'm thinking this problem may be solved once I buy my Thermoscud cover. I do like the PowerbyPCX replacement seats though.

Re: My other steeds

Thanks Trev. 'Bimble', that's a good word and it sums up my riding style perfectly. I can see that you would be attached to the GS after all that time. I used to pop along to various GSClubUK events (Princetown etc) and have come to admire these bikes. However they were never for me. I always found ...

Re: My other steeds

Engine configuration aside, aren't these bikes pretty similar? (You even seem to be kitting out the CrossTourer with GS-style luggage) I wouldn't want to take a CT too far off-road but then that's the same with the GS (far too top-heavy for serious rough stuff). Fine tourers both but I'm not sure wh...

Re: New PCX Owner in Dorset, England

Beware the fuel gauge on the PCX. At 70-75 miles my gauge will have lost just 2 bars but from there onwards it seems to go down quickly. I usually go to a flashing last bar at around 125-130 miles which is just 55-60 miles on those last 6 bars. I haven't been brave enough to see how much further I c...

Re: PCX ?

A hypothetical question for you chaps - supposing 'my mate' decided to skip the 2500 mile service and take the PCX in for a service say, at 4000 miles (and 12 months). This in the UK would obviously invalidate the warranty BUT...it's a Honda. For the most part all the non-engine parts should last th...

Welcome from me on the sunny South Coast. Your accessories are exactly what I have in mind for mine. Scoooter-wear have their shop (The Cafe Racer) just along the seafront in Hove so I'll be raiding their stocks soon. My PCX is black with the identical screen and topbox to yours.

Re: What sort of mileage are you guys at??

Hi, I'm at around 1600 miles from new in mid-July. My useage consists of general running around town or into Brighton or Worthing (around 6 miles in either direction) to a 29 mile commute to Gatwick Airport when there are no trains (ie very early mornings) Most of the time I have free rail travel so...

Re: How to protect my scooter over winter?

Emily, reading your posts makes me feel that you need a little extra training to boost your confidence in your riding ability. Check the phonebook for schemes running in your area (I'm sure the Police do a good scheme that won't break the bank) you won't regret it and you'll get free security tips t...

Re: Greetings From Seattle.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Gn2's link is a good 'un. Scooter-wear have their shop (The Cafe Racer) in Hove, near Brighton, which is 5 miles from me. I pop in on the odd occasion and they are always very friendly and helpful. I'm sure they'll be able to help you out with Tucan Urbano stuff.

Re: another new member

Yes Rhodgie I am very pleased with my fuel figures. I was thinking maybe I'd get 100 - 110 mpg and would have been extremely pleased with that. My riding style on the PCX tends to be relaxed....I just find it so enjoyable to pootle about taking in the scenery, something I didn't do often on larger c...

Re: another new member

Just a quick word about the PCX and Motorway riding. I commute on occasion from the South Coast (between Brighton and Worthing) to Gatwick airport. It's a journey of 29.5 miles. I allow myself an hour for the journey to give me time to park up, take off my waterproofs etc, and lock the bike and stuf...

Re: What did I do to my PCX150!

Great pictures, I really enjoyed looking through them while having a morning coffee. Just one minor gripe - not all of the pictures have info on the location. As with TV's Tour de France coverage, I like to follow the progress on a map to see whereabouts the action is. But thank you all the same for...

Re: Question to you from a newbie rider

Welcome to the forums Happyscooter. I am amazed at how road furniture can be so badly thought out with regards to potential hazards to motorcyclists/scooterists. My particular gripe is with the location of many manhole covers. I have a stretch of road on my commute that seems to have been designed t...

Re: Dr. Martens boots?

I wear Caterpillar boots in winter. They have a Gore-Tex membrane and although maybe not as comfortable as worn-in Docs they are comfy enough and would give a measure of protection in a spill. That said, mine haven't really worn in the two winters I've had them as I change into lighter shoes at work...

Re: hello from another newbie

Hello and welcome from me too Geri, I have the shorter Givi screen fitted to my PCX and it keeps the worst of the wind & rain away nicely. You'll find your PCX very good for your commute as it's a doddle to ride in traffic and can manage A & B-road outings too as long as you avoid the faster...

I love my PCX (125) too. I am also considering the saddle change that you are going to do, albeit with white stitching, and look forward to your opinions when you've installed your new one. The price including shipping seems reasonable provided the quality is there.

Re: Thinking of buying a PCX, please help

I'm getting very nearly 130mpg which is amazing. I have to admit I don't thrash about but I do a country A-Road commute from the coast to Gatwick Airport...a round trip of 58 miles.
