Re: IIHS Study On ABS Brakes On Honda Scooter Motorcycles
I'm not worried so much about fatality stats, since most m/c accidents by far are probably non fatal. I am however, interested in not ending up with broken body parts on myself and the bike. Fast forward to 1:35 for the wet braking part on the first one, the most interesting: http://www.youtube.com/...

Sounds like you'll be working on the scooter yourself. In that case, the best thing you can do immediately is get yourself a copy of the service manual. The Honda manual is good, very detailed. I got mine here, shipping was fast. http://www.service-shop-repair-manual.com/2013-2014-honda-pcx150-part-...

Re: Kicking the tires... PCX used buyers guide
I think the newer Harleys are fairly decent. My parents have a 2007 or 2008 Ultra Classic that they've taken across the USA a number of times with no issue. But I think the ones much older than that are iffy.

Re: Acceleration ONLY! PCX 150 2013
I'm going to step into the role of the grumpy old man here, because someone has to. I'm only going down this road because you mention bang for your buck in your post. This is a good point... Take a relatively slow vehicle. A 150cc scooter, perhaps. Baseline time from 0-40 mph is value "x"....

Re: best glove combo or mitt for warm hands??
I've found that I like mittens because my fingers stay warmer than when I wear gloves. I like gloves because I feel like I have more control than when I wear mittens. For m/c riding, I like this style. Kind of a combination. http://www.hainesmc.co.uk/images/uploaded/category_icons/category_407_DDOve...

Dang, are you guys wearing Viking helmets? I would have figured if it fit my oversized melon, and fits under my seat, anything would.

Re: Two Scooter Household
My gut feeling is that there are probably two sweet spots in the world of scooters. 125-150cc and 300-not to exceed 400cc ranges. The Forza, at a bit below 300, seems to trying to split the difference to an extent, on the high end of the middle ground. Anything bigger than 400 and in my book you mig...

Seems like a good price. Nice work.

Re: Two 2014 Forzas at my dealer
Nice.
So you got out of there for roughly 4800?
Anxious to hear your impression of that vs. PCX once you get some seat time in. We should still have a bit of decent riding weather left for you. Hopefully it's not a month till they get the fuel pump fixed.

Re: Side stand or center stand when you park your bike?
Side, usually. Sometimes center. No real pattern, here. The only reason I use the center stand is if my garage space is tight. Makes it slightly easier to walk around the scooter if it's on the center stand. I have a small garage and a lot of crap. Another full size m/c, various bicycles, a canoe, t...

Re: Givi Top case install
Not totally sure, but I think the E30 is the older designation, and Givi has revamped their lineup, and the case that occupies the 30 liter space is now called an E300. I think the E26 I have has been replaced by the E260, etc. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me.

Re: Givi Top case install
It seems to. I may have given you a link to a different seller than where I bought my E26. Looks like Tour and Ride also sells a 30L for $90. I got my case from them lickety split when ordered through Amazon, and I'd recommend them where I can't speak to the other seller. http://www.amazon.com/Givi-...

Re: Givi Top case install
The brake light is pretty poor. But I guess the wiring is there already, so you could easily put a better LED in there if you wanted to. I can take better pics of the helmet in there if you want, before you order it. Mine is a size L HJC Symax. Not much spare room. Yeah, it wasn't my favorite case o...

The E26 I ordered from Amazon came with this included at no extra charge. It is the base in my pics.

Givi Top case install
In case anyone is interested: Pics of the Givi universal mount on the OEM Honda rack. Also of E26 top case. My Large size HJC Symax modular fits inside. Notes: The Honda tail plastic has marks on the underside on where to drill the holes. This has been covered in other posts. But I will add one thin...

Re: Two 2014 Forzas at my dealer
I'm tempted to wait until we've had 2 or 3 weeks of ice cold weather and maybe 6" of snow on the ground, then walk into some places with a Forza on the floor, checkbook in pocket.
