Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
It started to do it now so... Probably belt? I have an reinforced one at home. Installed I have the stock one so...
After your post as I came to work I felt the scooter sluggish thru the rpm range...
I have to check everything again and try other belt.

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
That's the problem... It's more when cold but it didn't do before the milled variator center mod. I have the Polini blue contra spring.
I think I might milled too much... I only milled to the start of the belt mark but probably it's too much.

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
I don't know if it's the mod or not but I'm having issues. When I start the scooter and wanna go the engine rev's and the scooter starts moving but slow and no power at all. Then I pull more and sudenly it's like unlock and goes with power. In my opinion probably the belt it's locked between the pul...

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
Just to inform that after some km with the mod the top speed went up more 2km/h.
So my PCX at first was toping out at 118 them I filed the center of the vario and went to 120 and now the needle stop's at 122 or the next mark after 120. Nice!!!

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
So I modified other stock vario that came with my PCX. And... I dont aprove. At 80km/h more less the rpm drops a litle and the top speed is less than the other stock vario that I only filed in the center. It doesn't keep the rpm high until 100 km/h as the other. So in my opinion modifying the ramps ...

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
Right. I'll test now for some days and I will see how much space is left on the vario. If read correct and I already filed to the maximum what could I do more?
By the way, where the sliders are it's necessary to make the mod you did in the other post?

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
If I understand you right static means in center stand? If yes I allways top out in the road the same as static so... When I got my JCosta variator I milled the variator boss a few mm and it only gave me 2 km/h. My only concern about this mod is at idle. I saw in the variator a space of about 3 or 4...

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
So... Liked it cause it gave me a litle more top end but no that much. Mine was toping out litle before 120 and now stop right on 120. The diference was I didnt lost the other things and after downhilling at 120 it didnt drop to much speed.

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
The stock one! Lets see if it will do anything to top speed since I installed it with Dr. Pulley.
JCosta was great downhill but in general I'm loving riding with Dr. Pulley sliders.

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
It's already done.
Let's see tomorow when I test cause today I'm not in the mood...
I did not measure. Filed to the low mark of the belt and done.
I did notice that the belt didn't travel all the vario so... I hope that this mod will work.

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
How many time this will take to do? I will not use my pcx today or tomorrow so I have time to finish it? And its safe to file until the low part of the pulley mark? I already broke one Malossi cause of this kind of mods.

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
I understand the concept of it. I was thinking that this is the dame as milling the vario boss but no.
This method allows us to have more top end and not losing acceleration and acceleration from stop.
It's even better this mod so we can install even slightly less grams to have even more acceleration.

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
Yah I did experienced the same but I installed it wrong because I had it correctly but I saw on youtube a video and I suposed that it was wrongly installed so I follow the video and as we can see now the video was wrong. I'll try your method to achieve more speed. It's 3 mm to mill? WHOA! NOT 3MM!!...

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
20x15 for the PCX Thanks, I have a 2013 esp 125cc so would i be looking for 13g 20x15 sliders? I'm using 12gm DrPulley sliders in my 2013 PCX150 and my pulling rpm is 7,900. It accelerates better than stock and the top speed went up 2 mph at redline. I found no loss of fuel economy as it still ride...

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders
I'm using know Dr. Pulley sliders I installed it wrong once and it was faster until 70 and then the rpm drop a lot. With it installed correctly it's not so much quick but more linear.
So to achieve more top speed I have to mill the variator or it's the same if I shorter the vario boss the same mm?

Re: Dr. Pulley & Contra spring testing
Hello again. So after some test's finally I can say: I love Dr. Pulley Sliders!!! I have less top speed than JCosta Variator but in general I have more top speed in the same uphills. And looking in the videos I can see that Dr. Pulley Sliders performs better in acceleration. At least it seems. Next ...

Re: Yuminashi variator and belt
What I know about big bores from Yuminashi at least here in Portugal is that the PCX where it was installed suffered from over heating. If it's true or not... That's why I'm not interested to upgrade mine right now. Probably I'll upgrade the camshaft and valve springs from Yuminashi with stock 150cc...
