Re: Seniors & shingles
Here in Illinois these Naturopathic services and doctors will be added to the list of typical medical practices as choices soon and they really work! We have a entire University teaching Naturopathic sciences here in Chicagoland with whole health centers branching into Florida right now. Who knew h...

Re: Seniors & shingles
A 70 yr old relative of mine had had the early shingles shot. He came down with a horrible case of facial, scalp & neck shingles. 5 days later he died of a heart attack after 3 days in the hospital. Fish And you ask: Are you old guy going to go out and get yours? Not after I have read your orig...

Re: riding when you have tonsilitis or strrep throat
What I was about 40 years old I caught strep, it lasted about five days and put me in the hospital for a few days, with them feeding me antibiotics, I had the highest temperature that I've ever had at 104… And was damn scared. I then got out of the hospital, and about a week and a half later IT CAM...

Re: riding when you have tonsilitis or strrep throat
How do you know you have strep without a throat culture ?? and if you had it before why then did you not build up the immunity as you are attempting to do with this on set. Take the medicine or you run the risk of a heart infection and that can be fatal or minimally do valve damage which can be a r...

riding when you have tonsilitis or strrep throat
Forget it completely. I never knew I could feel this bad. This is the 5th day. I take the car out every day but leave my PCX on its stand. I am sure it is wondering what the hell is going on. Since I've had it I have ridden it every day for 4 years. But for now, I have no appetite at all for riding....

Re: riding in the cold
I guess the moderator moved it to Off-topic for some reason. It is just as well: this post is an improvement over the original I think. Which leads me to suggest an experiment: Write your post, copy it, save it somewhere without submitting and in a few days come back to the topic. Rewrite your post ...
Re: a puzzle
besides boots, helmet, gloves and knee pads I have no dedicated protective gear. I wear lined jeans summer and winter and in those there is a certain amount of protection baked-in, so to speak. In winter I wear three sweat shirts and two windbreakers. When I am in my winter riding outfit I look like...

riding in the cold
(thought I had posted this the other day, but don't find it in the line up so I guess I must have neglected to press the submit button. so for what it's worth....) I ride all winter. Most days I don't see any other riders---except, here and there, riders of bicycles. Come late Feb I begin to see oth...

If you have the courage, you might try standing on your head...very good for posture. Do it as described in the yoga manuals. Another good posture is the Bow. For this you lie on your belly , grab your ankles and "make like a bow". This strengthens the back and corrects, over time, the eff...
a puzzle
I ride all winter. Usually, from about the middle of November to March, I see no riders on my morning runs. The first week in March, provided the sun is out, and the wind isn't too punishing, I begin, usually on weekends, to see an occasional rider. They are almost always riding cruisers and always,...

Re: Life is Going to the Dogs. . .But in a Good Way!
the problem with this system, as was pointed out above, is that it begs to be abused. It might be fun for good sized young dogs belonging to older adults who have had a long acquaintance with dogs and the limits of their endurance. It is very easy for a jogger in good shape to take a dog with him on...

he is riding what looks to be a 50 cc something or other. It is low to the ground with short fat tires. Such a configuration is safer in these conditions than a taller skinny tire bike like the PCX. There is a bike called Ice Bear, I think, that I have seen around here. It seems to have been designe...

Re: Freeway riding
PCX is happiest, seems to me, doing about 45 miles per. The upper fourth of its possible range is for temporary emergency and semi emergency use. Or so my experience tells me. I don't do freeways with it. I don't even like to do secondary highways (roads with 55 mph limit) because, let's face it, wh...

I have taken my bike completely apart and have upgraded the headlight by changing the bulbs to HS5, and I am adding 4 additional LED lights into the headlight assembly. Also, while the bike is apart I am cleaning up some of my previous wiring. I admire your courage. I might like to have leds but so...

Re: Spring has sprung!
It is nice around here too...60's from the feel of it. I, of course, took out the PCX this morning. but then, if it had been 15 and the roads were clear I would have taken it out. I have been riding this winter every day when there wasn't flying snow or snow lying on the streets. Zero, and even belo...
