Re: Almost
Switching between the PCX and the Silver Wing makes finding the horn button more problematic. On the PCX, the horn is above the turn signal, and on the Silver Wing the turn signal is above the horn. Or is that the other way round? Anyhow, I almost never use the horn. Don't use it for less dangerous ...

Re: Brand-new rider and PCX Owner
Thanks, all. Yes, Miss Bash has an armored jacket, armored gloves and a full-face helmet. She also agreed to overpants. However, as GeorgeSK points out, the pants might be a tough sell for such a short ride after a while--it'll take her longer to suit up and un-suit than it will to ride to school at...

Re: Brand-new rider and PCX Owner
Thanks, Gents, for the well wishes to Miss Bash. @Mel46: Good point. Talked with Miss Bash about pants. "But, Dad, no teen girl has anything but tight jeans." We agreed on kevlar jeans and/or riding overpants. Frankly, it's always a tradeoff, of course. She is about 1.5 miles from school o...

Brand-new rider and PCX Owner
My daughter (Miss Bash, aka Kyra) passed her MSF (Motorcycle Safety Course) this weekend! She got a better score on the test than I did taking the MSF course for the second time a few years back. The training program messed up and didn't have the promised scooter for the training so she took the cou...

Re: haggling suggestions for pcx 150
When I see the bumps in time, I stand up ala dirt biking or mountain biking. The PCX rotates over the bump and it's less jarring for me and the bike. To account for unseen bumps, a loose, non-rigid riding posture is good. That's sometimes hard for new riders or on new bikes, but usually comes natura...

"That is the most expensive book I have ever bought!"
You must not have bought a college textbook recently (for self or dependent).
Another perspective: If you save yourself a couple or so hours labor charges at the dealer the manual will have paid for itself.

Those French are savvy engineers, all right. My Peugeot 404 had the most ingenious theft protection system--the door locks (visible at the base of the window) pulled up to lock and pushed down to unlock.
Congrats on the new bike, GatorGreg. It's a beauty!

Re: haggling suggestions for pcx 150
Depends on how risk averse you are. It provides piece of mind, but for a price (obviously). I got an extended warranty on my Silver Wing but not on the PCX. If I were to do it again, I probably wouldn't have bought the extended warranty on the Silver Wing. The bikes are both very reliable and, in ad...

Re: haggling suggestions for pcx 150
Several suggestions: -Look online for a leftover prior year model. Dealer may have more incentive to deal on these. -Call or email each local dealer with a bike in stock that you want. Ask them for an out-the-door price, in writing. Tell them you are asking for bids from several dealers. Tell them y...

Re: It's gone
Bad news. Sorry to hear.
Any lock or safety measure can be defeated if the bad guy wants it. Good insurance is your best bet, in the end.
[BTW: had a disc lock on my BMW touring bike. Forgot it one day and the lock tore off the front brake line. Replaced the line and tossed the lock.]

Nice area for summer ride on a new bike. You already have as many miles on yours as I do on my 3 y.o. PCX. Congrats!

Re: Happy Birthday to you ...
Yes, the lack of use is shameful. Too many toys and too little time. I went to ride it a couple weeks ago and discoved the registration had expired five months before! My penance was to wait in a hour-long line to do the required in-person renewal of a lapsed registration. On the bright side, at 100...

For a PCX, but that's a common mileage for a Harley of that vintage.

PCX150. Third birthday today. Rode it to work. Odo reads 1247 miles!
Perhaps I'll wash it for its birthday. Haven't done that since 2014 or thereabouts.

Re: Left over, new, 2014 Forzas availiable
The day I bought a Road King, my wife bought a Sportster 1200 as a first bike. Was concerned about that as a first bike for her so got her a Honda Rebel to learn on. She used it for all of two weeks, and then on to the Sportster. (She did have a motorcycle safety course under her belt, though. Recom...

Re: You tell me...
What a nice problem to have--lots of good choices! If it were me and it were the first really long trip, I'd do the closest option. If I liked it, even longer trips would follow. My most memorable trip on Skyline Drive was to take the bar exam (to get a law license). Lived in northern Virginia and t...

No, just ones with scratches on the bodywork. Told you it was ruined. Wheels will probably fall off next.supersamo48 wrote:Hey there guys! My pcx is brand new (just bought and been 700km). My problem is that my scooter's engine starts to vibrate at 80 km/h. Is that normal? All pcx does that?
