Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

That's okay :) I just find it easier to keep in touch with people through Facebook. Anyway, I shall make sure the 'Yorkshire' lot arrange something with you at some point in the future ;) So keep an eye on the Rides and Events sub-forum! Will do! (And I was born in Sheffield so having a 'Yorkshire'...

Re: Ground anchor problems? (tarmac/concrete)

Sadly there's nothing to deter a determined professional thief. If it makes you sleep better at night, you'd better install something 'concrete' to fix it to. With an approved lock, there's a chance you can get a discount on your insurance policy. Better still, move to a neigbourhood where statisti...

Re: Ground anchor problems? (tarmac/concrete)

Now wondering if chaining the bike to my gatepost would be a better option. Ground anchor looks too hard to fit withuot some serious man-power/tools. Then the tea leaves will just cut through your chain with bolt cutters in less than half a jiffy leaving you with a nice ground anchor to secure your ...

Re: New PCX, CBT advice

Thanks! I was just wondering, does your CBT have scooters available for you to use instead of your Brand New Spanky PCX? Or are they all geared bikes? I believe they have some 50cc machines but I feel doing the CBT on my bike would be a better option. 8 hours of riding on my bike with an instructor ...

Re: Ground anchor problems? (tarmac/concrete)

We use a length of steel pipe buried in 20 pounds of concrete. Each end has a threaded and welded-on tee fitting. One end is barely exposed above ground level, allowing us to thread through a hardened security chain to tie the bike down. The chain cannot be parted except by power equipment. http://...

Re: Ground anchor problems? (tarmac/concrete)

You would need to cut a hole in the tarmac, dig down nice and deep and fill with concrete. Then the tea leaves will just cut through your chain with bolt cutters in less than half a jiffy leaving you with a nice ground anchor to secure your next scooter to. Thanks, I guess that's what I will have t...

Re: Ground anchor problems? (tarmac/concrete)

Thanks gn2. I'm pretty paranoid about bike theft Best thing to do: sell the ground anchor on eBay, forget all the security gubbins and get good insurance. I have third party fire and theft insurance which was expensive enough! I'm just trying to be as secure as possible but I know that nothing is th...

Ground anchor problems? (tarmac/concrete)

Hi, Apologies if this is not the correct board for this topic. I'm pretty paranoid about bike theft and have bought a Xena disc lock, Massive ass oxford chain and a ground anchor. I wish I could have my PCX in the house then i'd sleep well! The problem is: Just got my Oxford Anchor Force ground anch...

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Thanks everyone :D Ive been watching lots of youtube videos of the PCX for months! Also found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g91W7dvHvb4 HONDA AUSTRALIA ROADCRAFT TRAINING - Some really useful videos and he uses a PCX in many of the demos. Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my helmet wont fit under the seat. I have an XS head but still look like a freakin' lollypop :(

Luckily I will only be using the bike to commute about 15 mins each way to work. So no worries about kit or anything cos I can just dump it in the corner.

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Nice!

I decided now was a good time to start again as its nearly 'summer'. However, the weather may have other ideas on my CBT day so we shall have to see.

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Yeah. Everyone makes mistake but as long as you learn from them its natural. My mum is pretty cool with the whole 'bike' thing. I think she's just happy i'm going to be able to get out and do my own thing really. She's a little nervous about me driving home after my CBT ( i do understand why) but I ...

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Yeah, completely agree. AND THE FORBIDDEN CORNER looks pretty damn awesome! Same goes for car accident stories though. Thrown off a bike or crushed in a car. You can make anything sound bad and dangerous if you look at the right stuff. And it all depends on the mentality of the rider/driver, and you...

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Yeah, i'm in the Carlisle area of Cumbria :) Would be great to arrange a meet! Same here. I feel 'safer' on a bike/scooter and the lady at Honda agreed with me. She said she feels like she knows what she is capable of on a bike, more than in a car. When I tried learning to drive my mother held onto ...

Re: Bringing her home on Saturday!

Hi, Similar to you. Can't drive (instructor was OK though), cars aren't really for me. At 17 your given a deadly weapon, all of the other road users and the road, and I couldn't handle it! I 'tested' the PCX in the Honda car park but lets just say that - the saying you never forget how to ride a bik...

Re: New PCX, CBT advice

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately can't ride at all before the CBT as the bike is at the garage for the next week, and being delivered to me for the CBT. I'm sure ill do fine, I know you cant 'fail' a CBT and I am probably better than when I took it 6 years ago, think i'm more excited than ner...

New PCX, CBT advice

Hi everyone,

Just posted in the gallery section: Bringing her home on Saturday!
http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1216

I wondered if anyone had any advice on riding a PCX for the first time, as I am rather nervous about my CBT (compulsory basic training, here in the UK).

THANK YOU

Bringing her home on Saturday!

Hi everyone, I have been lurking on this forum for some months and have greatly enjoyed the enthusiasm of all of you PCX owners/loves. I feel in love with the PCX around 3 months ago and have finally put the deposit down and will be picking my 2013 PCX up on Saturday. I am a 23 year old, female from...
