Re: PCX on wet floor

i suppose the only issue with the PCX in rain is that it has a low flood limit. if there is standing water up to or above the swingarm/engine from a flash flood, etc, the PCX will flood its engine because the air intake is rather low on this bike.

Re: PCX on wet floor

the PCX handles fine in the rain with normal careful rain riding even with the IRC tires in my experience.

Re: Ready For Touring

I was thinking along the same lines. A pair of throwovers, plus a bigger bike to throw them over. Touring on a PCX? You would have to be mad. I don't know, it could be more fun just pottering around thats pretty much what the supercub tourer said. he likes the relaxed pace of the cub. he feels more...

You would have to be mad. i suppose it depends on the country and roads. i would certainly tend to want a bigger bike for touring but i met a guy on this supercub on my recent tour. h...

Re: Ready For Touring

i like the side rack. i would use ortlieb motorcycle bags though as the bags themselves are much lighter. pelican cases are so heavy empty that you could carry around the same weight loaded with gear in a soft bag!

Re: What happened to ClubPCX website

they never had any interest in the PCX other than to make money selling. i found them to be jerks from the beginning as well before the split and new forum. it really sucks for the people that spent the time and effort posting useful information that the site has just disappeared. it shows how much ...

Re: Very bumpy ride on the pcx!

my only complaint about the PCX was the absolutely crap wooden feeling rear shocks. honda put the cheapest crappiest shocks possible on this bike. shame on honda!

i upgraded to some YSS gas shocks for around $250 and am extremely pleased with the results.

Re: How is the scooter "culture" in your area?

motorcycles are very important for year round personal transportation in areas of japan that dont get too cold, snowy and icy. in dense urban areas, people dont have enough parking to have two cars, so many families have one car and a motorcycle, or scooter or two. as i mentioned in other threads, t...

Re: Feeling sorry for the PCX 125?

in japan less than 50cc on a car license less than 125cc is very cheap on insurance and tax compared to 125cc and up. many urban motorcycle parking facilities only allow 124cc and below under 250cc bikes do not require the biannual inspection = less hassle to own and mod without undoing/redoing mod...

both rain and cold. i use it as a commuter bike and the Ermax +25 is an excellent addition to the bike for the 3 seasons besides summer.

completely happy with this forum and the moderation. the other guys pissed me off early on with their arrogant attitudes, commercialism and other shenanigans. thanks for taking the initiative to make a site by and for enthusiasts instead of just a place to push PCX aftermarket products!

I would do it myself if it cost that much. they charge about $10 at the dealership. there are so many bike shops here and competition is fierce. since I bought the bike there, they don't charge anything for labor, just for the oil!

Re: REquired Service for Warranty

when the oil has settled after doing the proper oil check procedure, you should see a clear line on the dipstick. if it is clear you have to look closely but the level should be clear. it is a known issue that it is a messy affair to change the oil on the PCX as you have experienced. luckily for my,...

in my experience it is easy to read the dipstick when you follow the proper procedure on most bikes. i have never checked the oil on my PCX though.

Re: REquired Service for Warranty

I mean how do you tell when you are putting too much in? you buy a plastic oil measuring jug. failing that you put in a bit under the right amount and check the oil strictly according to the procedure as described in the manual: 1. let the engine run for 5 minutes until it is completely warmed up 2...

Re: REquired Service for Warranty

yes, it is really really bad to overfill the oil. i am not sure if the amount you put in is enough more to cause a problem. maybe not if it is showing within the acceptable level on the dipstick assuming you are following the correct oil checking procedure. hopefully, somebody smarter than me will c...

Re: REquired Service for Warranty

And it's a Honda engine as well. We have a Honda four wheeler from 2002 that has barely had any maintenance, I don't think oil has ever been changed. And that thing still runs great. Gotta love honda quality for gods sake change the oil on that bike at least once a year. it may be a honda but you s...

Re: Idle stop worries

i agree, its the battery. replace it ASAP before it leaves you stranded. i had to get a jump start twice before i figured that out. luckily here in the dense urban jungle there was a bike shop or car shop within 50 meters both times.
