Re: New Battery
My original 2014 PCX battery is still working fine - bike starts first time and is kept outdoors all year round. Used 15 days/month on average and not used for 10 days every January and sometimes left 2-3 weeks in the summer every 2 years (over-seas holiday). That's 8 years old + time in storage bef...

Re: Compatible helmet under seat
Both my Box and Schox helmets in Large fit fine on a '14 PCX. I did report to an old thread saying they didn't because the seat sat up by about 1-2 cm's but if you press down it closes fine and after 8+ years of ownership, no damage at all to anything.

Re: Bumpy Ride With New Tires
Very unusual to get PCX tyresbalanced - never seen any with weights on either. They should be ok but others have posted issues with fitting or just faulty / fake tyres. Still like the original MCG's so no issue going with them over mark II's.

Re: 2015 Front Center Cover? (below headlight)
Disgusting pricing for something that literally costs pence to produce. Usually we get ripped off like that in the UK and US/Taiwan prices are low. Might be worth searching for 3D printed scooter parts in case someone has started this or asking anyone who is selling their bike for parts.

Re: Drive belt torque settings?
Ah - the 'Ol "ballpark" torque setting !!! There is a reason they use torque settings ... Yes, but I've yet to see a garage or even a dealer use them when tightening up major bolts of bikes. Not over-tightening is one thing to avoid, but once they are tight, mostly it does not matter a fe...

Re: Drive belt torque settings?
Most garages and dealers do not use a torque wrench (although I have one). A good recommendation was to place a mark across the nut and metalwork as it will be in the same ballpark place as it tightens up and the marks will show alignment.

Search this forum, youtube, google for clutch bearing noise and it may show you whats wrong. I road with it like that for a year+ and no issues then swapped the face driven set out.

Re: An OEM belt lasts 10,000 miles on the dot. How long do NCY rollers last before needing to be replaced??
The consensus on kevlar 3rd party belts is stay clear - especially most of the Exxx rubbish, just spend the %10 extra and buy the original belt from a dealer or a reputable alternative. It's been covered here from time to time so you should find info using the search. Honda would spec the life of th...

I replaced my original belt @18,000+ miles, came off looking in great condition. It's a double sided web style and no cracks and measured the correct width. Others have ridden 10,000's miles and not many say their belt regularly snaps.

Re: PCX clutch wouldn't disengage
My bike is 8 years old and a few years back when I took the clutch out and replaced parts to cater for the 'noise' issue due to bad or poorly greased bearings, the contra spring was still very strong and tricky to get apart and put back the nut. Honda do suggest checking and replacing it in their se...

Basically make sure it's magnesium friendly and silicate free (as can damage seals over time) - the one I listed costs £10 and is perfect.

Re: stutter, close to cut off whilst riding
The good thing is of all the 1000's of Honda scooters in use over the years, and from following this forum, this is an extremely rare occurence, even for those with many years use and 10,000's of miles on them.

Re: Dropped the Bugger
Even before BRexit and current world issues, the UK has always been a rip-off country. I ordered lots of parts from abroad and even with 2 week delivery it cost less than a 3rd if I bought them here - and companies buy in bulk!

Main Individual panels here cost about £60-70 + shipping having searched google, may be able to get them cheaper but not by much. Whole sets cost upwards of £300-390.

Some added a smart key system to their bike for less. I'm more than happy with a normal key and do not want a smart key system, althought the choice is limited when buying new or 2nd hand.

Re: Brake Pads (aftermkt)
I bought EBC pads from Ebay for £11 delivered, and the 2nd time from a dealer for £20 as they usually stocked these and had to order Honda ones. The 2nd set are lasting much longer than the 1st.

Re: Slow take off from stop till 15-20mph
I changed my air filter and belt @ approx 18,500 (dirty filter but new made no difference that I could tell) and the belt seemed fine - ok width and no splits or such and it was the dual sided kind (ribs on both sides). The variator plates had wear and the only issue was a squeal when dropping to lo...

Doubt full throttle will help is the pads haven't and the issue is above 10mph (you say up to 20kmph) < when you feel the clutch bite do you still get rough pull away?

Re: How-To Video: CVT Parts Removal / Installation
Best method to judge tightness if mark them before taking off - when thightening the marks will align pretty close to where they came from as with large nuts, it would be very difficult to tighten them too much so that they go on a whole turn more!
