Re: Broken Honda trunk box

I'll bet Richard Dean Anderson has wondered at least once about how many people he influenced on that TV series to solve everyday problems with great DIY solutions. I've got several seasons of MacGyver DVD sets. . .my kids insisted on getting them. ;) I spotted this video on YouTube. . .one of his ...

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

Well the Honda dealership got back to me and has made my choice really simple.

They says replacement arms are not available as such they recommended a complete new trunk box...yeah right LOL

I think I'll be creating an upgraded MacGyver fix this weekend.

Re: What do you think of my new seat cover?

Well at least you have the most unique seat cover in the world.

You could be parked in a sea of white 2017 PCX scooters and yours would stand out......like a swore thumb :)

Anyhow, just as long as you like it, that's all that matters

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

Remember that when manufacturers build a product they are out to save money, not make it last. Fixing it yourself will probably make it last much longer than even buying replacement parts. MacGyver it and call it a day. Your fix will look better and last longer Sometimes they design a weak link of ...

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

Seems to me that a couple of bits of line would do a better job anyway. One one side, two noose sort of knots that would snug up to the studs and on the other side, make one loop adjustable so that the strains are met at the same time. You probably do want restraints on both sides, or the hinges wi...

Re: Broken Honda trunk box

Definitely something MacGyver would do. The only other thing I can think of is to take a couple of heavy duty fishing leaders and modify them so that both ends will hook onto the existing holes. It would be rust resistant and plasti-coated and probably hold up a lot longer that the original a...

Broken Honda trunk box

I guess the pictures tell the story....both of the plastic arms that prevents the lid from opening too far, broke at the same time without any abnormal force. I assuming replacement arms would not be cheap, as it's connected to the plastic "slot-nut" so you can't just replace the arm.....w...

Re: What did i get for miles per gallon

Ah,i see what you mean, darn metric system,us old guys still try to use, inches, gallons, etc. I was brought up on miles per gallon too, but these days I find it gets confusing when there are different definitions of "gallon". Personally, I've just settles on kilometers per litre. Speaking of...

Re: What did i get for miles per gallon

What?? 113.3 What? I'm confused. You pay $113.3 per liter? What is $113.3... is that like $113.30?? I would have a very hard time trying to figure out my gas mileage up there. I can't even keep up with your Canadian vs U.S. dollars., so decimal points would be a real problem for me. Wait...I was an...

Re: What did i get for miles per gallon

Drove 241 km,put 5.86 dollars in tank,and gas is 113.3 dollars a liter. This is in and out of town,average speed would be 40 to 80 km a hour. I am in Canada. $5.86 @ $113.3 per litre = 5.172 litres of fuel 5.172 litres = 1.366 USA gallons or 1.138 UK gallons 241 KMS = 149.75 miles 149.75 / 1.366 = ...

How do you think real leather would hold up to weather/rain in comparison to vinyl or polyurethane?

Re: I find the seat fine.

The ladies do notice a scooter... hey try this sometime when you are cruising downtown. Mep, mep on the horn point to the pillion seat. You will be surprised at the smiles on a young woman's return. Now try that on your race bike. I think in my case they'd give me the finger then call the police to...
