We are paying $160/year for two riders (both with good driving records), and two scooters (PCX and Burgman). I think the US warranty is only for 1 year, and it is very unlikely that anything would breakdown during the first year. Or if it did, that doing your own maintenance would be an issue. If there was a serious 5 year warranty I'd be more concerned.

I agree GN2, that part is hard to swallow. They get recycled, so that makes me feel a little better about it. I don't think a vehicle battery ever lasts more than 7 years, so hopefully we aren't throwing them away very long before they would have failed.

I'd definitely go the full face route to provide the most protection. Otherwise, if you crash your lower face has no protection at all.
