Re: Oil change short story
Ah yeah sorry you are correct oil is changed 5000 per the manual. But that is 5000 miles on an engine that spins 9500 rpm with unfiltered oil totalling just 1 quart. Ive got it in my head to change the oil every 2500 miles as per the valve schedule. And the valves I checked at 600 and 3000. From her...

Re: Oil change short story
The difference from traditional motorcycles, is the clutch is not in oil, it is a dry clutch system. Plus the transmission (cvt belt drive) is also not in oil. Thus many people feel they can get away with automotive oil. And I ran auto oil for 5700 miles. The cavet is Honda recommends a MB motorcycl...

Oil change short story
I was bored today. Waiting for the delivery of my new lawn tractor, figured I'd change the scooter oil for this riding season. I changed the oil of the PCX 125 before I put it in storage with mobil 1 10w-30 extended protection car oil. I was reading the manual, and Honda recommended a MB rated motor...

Replacement Tire options
Howdy. I'm at 5600 miles on the clock and tires. I am planing on replacing them soon maybe at 8000? I ride a lot on the scooter, it is my primary commuter to work. I don't lean much in turns, and all of my commute is on straight roads. So now the rear tire is pretty square. Some tread is left, but t...

Wow that sucks. Those look like the tail light bulb. I find the stock US version lights adequate.

Re: Traffic Light Trigger
Illinois just passed a new law allowing motorcycles to run a red if after waiting at least 120 seconds, and it is safe to do so. Except for districts with over 2million population. (Chicago) I've only had a few lights I couldn't trip with the PCX. I learned in my MSF class that the key is to stop th...

Re: Upgraded spark plug for PCX?
I installed the iridium plug for the PCX. I bought the last 2 off amazon last year. Good luck finding one. I did not notice anything different. I do plan on runing it 2-4 times longer than stock.

Re: How to: Valve Adjustment for Honda PCX
It is annoying to check the valves every 2500 miles. My intake is always withing spec, but my exhaust is always just out of spec loose. I change the oil when I check the valves since the bike has to sit cold, and takes a while to remove the plastics.

Re: So close to getting a scooter
While not exactly in your same situation, my parents where not thrilled that I wanted to own a motorcycle. Last February I called them and said I just signed up for a motorcycle training and safety class. We call it MSF, at my local college. Boy when they heard that I got all kinds of warnings, goin...

Re: Honda NC700
I have the DCT version of the NC700X. I am averaging 64 MPG US. Only have 618 miles on the bike. And now it's in storage. I just changed the oil, oil filter, and the DCT transmission Oil filter. The seat is absolutely useless for riding over half hour. A Corbin seat and pillion seat is on order. I h...

Re: CB500X
I have a NC700X DCT. I am active on the NC700's forum. You would be lucky to get 75 MPG. most of us are averaging about 65-70 MPG (USA). Not bad. The CB500 and the NC700 have the same power numbers the NC was designed for low RPM torque and high fuel economy. From what we have read and heard on the ...
