Re: Braking on throttle roll back?
I've never ridden another scooter, but I do know that the PCX does brake on the engine. If you close the throttle at speed, the back wheel is driving the engine and the engine does not consume fuel.

Re: $6 Walmart backpack bike cover carrier
A culture where people just manhandle your brand new bike doesn't sound like one I would want to buy a bike in. I mean, would they really try and move a CBR1000RR just to free up some parking space? If you try'd and do that around here the owner would gladly redecorate your face.

Re: how does your PCX handle in the rain?
I've only stopped riding my PCX for 2 weeks this winter, otherwise I did 45 miles every day. I ride cautiously when it's wet, and as such I've never felt my PCX do something weird in the wet. If you ride cautiously when circumstances are as such, you should have no problems. How do you find doing s...

weather has been pretty nice here in germany. But I think I'd rather have it rain a bit again, as the ground is getting pretty dry

Re: Maintenance: what about the intervals?
Well, one problem could be that the engine has no real oil filter. It has a catch screen to catch some stuff, but no oil filter.

Re: New engine on model 2012 PCX 125
Thanks Maddiedog and Fiah, Interesting story at motorfreaks, unfortunately for the rest it is in Dutch. I would like to know how this translates to real life experience. Probably hardly noticeable? The PCX 150 is also a nice improvement! Probably hardly noticeable yeah. I mean, the difference betwe...

Re: New engine on model 2012 PCX 125
I've ordered a PCX 125 in Holland which is meant to arrive at the end of May (because of floods in Taiwan earlier this year?). Today I heard from my dealer that it will have the new engine, the eSP enhanced smart power engine. Improved durability, fuel economy, power and torque and quieter operatio...

I loved seeing the PCXs on the streets of Thailand, they looked so majestic compared to the other scoots and semi-automatics

Re: New guy here, first time posting, long time lurker…
I'm fairly sure the 150 is directly replacing the 125. If there is a price increase, it should be minimal. In Holland, a dealership was quoted saying that the 150 would cost a €200 premium over the 125. Tax is pretty hefty though, so I'm guessing it would be close to 200 USD. I'd say the 150 would ...

Re: yet another performance related question
You could change the gearing by changing out the gears at the rear wheel, but finding a set of those is not going to be easy me thinks.

Re: New guy here, first time posting, long time lurker…
If you're not going to do any freeway and it's 20 miles, then by all means get a PCX 125. I commute 2x23 miles every day, with a large stretch at ~55mph. I'm not sure about the prices in the USA, but to me $2500 sounds about right. Don't take the helmets though if they don't fit perfectly! A helmet ...

Re: PCX 150?
With the DCT, I can trust the automatic mode to shift for me, while keeping the option to change gears manually if I want to. Yes, it doesn't have a clutch, but I can live with that :) The DCT does sound attractive, other than the additional $2K to add it and ABS (at least in the US). Does anyone h...

Re: PCX for short interstate runs???
Depends on the traffic I'd say. I've done it before, and it can vary between a walk in the park and a fucking deathwish. For example, I've done 30 miles of highway or so by just tagging along with a truck. But somewhere half-way, I got sandwiched between trucks, and then a truck started to overtake ...

Re: PCX 150?
I have a normal motorcycle as well, but I don't miss the shifting at all. Especially because I drive to drive economically when commuting, which means shifting fairly often. With the DCT, I can trust the automatic mode to shift for me, while keeping the option to change gears manually if I want to. ...
