Re: MCDMA: PCX 150 vs Forza 300 vs Burgman 650

overall it is very good i think. i would drop the safety rating as i think it is arbitrary as you suggest and sorry, but that one is BS, IMO. the valve check requirement depends on whether you live in a Honda service rip off country or not. we dont have that expense here in japan among other countri...

Re: Start/stop okay for car not scoot!

in a 40 minute commute. i am stopped at stoplights for at least 10-15 minutes even after filtering, etc. there is a fuel and emissions savings but i realize it is not huge. the point is that the idle stop system works so damn well, there is no reason not to have it and use it. it is a bit dangerous ...

Re: Will they make a PCX300 ?

what have you been reading? wishful banter of some forums, or something more solid? please share if you have any gossip worth sharing. i dont really see a PCX with a 300cc engine happening. the bike is designed for a small engine and the speeds that go along with one. a small bump from 124 to 153cc ...

Re: Stored for Winter 2013

i also commute all year round. this year i have gotten a deep cycle battery to put under the seat and run my Warm and Safe jacket separately from the bikes electrical system. we will see how well that works! Hail, what was the process to get the separate electrical system for a heating system? My d...

Re: Stored for Winter 2013

Temps are struggling to reach 45 here. And the nights are below freezing now. PCX is officially stored until about mid march 2014. Parked it with 9816 miles on my 2011. This winter I plan on a major overhaul. Replace the original tires, they are just about at the wear bars. Valve adjustment Engine ...

Re: Hi Visibiliy and being seen!!

I covered my PCX in LEDs about 3 months ago to make me more visible ready for winter. Might have slightly overdone it to be honest but there's no way someone can say they ''didn't see me'', well worth doing! I'll post some photos when i get round to it... pics?!? as for horn upgrades, i recommend t...

Re: what is the best way to shade your eyes?

I also use sunglasses and the flip down visor in my Neotec helmet. however, when the sun is low in the sky, that just isn't enough and I feel it is quite dangerous because I cant see cars and traffic lights. I think this is what the OP is talking about. driving with my hand held up is better than no...

Re: what is the best way to shade your eyes?

i wear a motocross style enduro helmet with a peak type visor when i am going to be riding at a time and direction that will have the sun in my eyes. the UVEX Enduro helmet is a good one for the money and you can easily remove the peak visor if you want to. http://www.fc-moto.de/Helmets/Uvex-Helmets...

Re: warrantee issues

it seems hard to believe but my take is that Honda USA is complicit in this extortionist warranty requirement rip-off scam on american PCX owners! You are mistaken. If you look at the English language PCX owner manuals for Thailand and Europe the valve clearance check is definitely listed in the se...

Re: warrantee issues

@haildamage. Is there a recommended interval at all for valve adjustments in Japan? no, when i told him about the Honda US valve adjustment intervals my trusted head mechanic at my local flagship honda shop, the Honda Dream shop, looked it up and didnt find any recommended interval in his service m...

Re: warrantee issues

they dont bother to check the valves here in japan unless they are making noise or the bike isnt running right. it is a dealer revenue raising swindle in certain countries that put that in the maintenance schedule. it isnt in the maintenance schedule here in japan.

yeah, you cant lean the PCX over like a knee dragger sports bike with the center stand on. take it off if you want to push the limits of lean.

Re: Georgia riders - need some clarification on the law

Well from what I had heard the cop that day was a real SOB, but he would still have to have a real law to write a ticket against. I guess I can find a police station and hope they aren't in a bad mood like most are. I think they all get their Cheerios pee'd on every morning just so they can have a ...

Re: PCX on wet floor

modern motorcycle tires are amazing in the wet compared to years past. you can ride pretty aggressively on them in the wet if you are an experienced rider. however, i dont push the limits and ride extra careful in the wet and would recommend others do the same, especially inexperienced riders. it on...
