Re: Another crash

Someone said that it didn't look like a 50km/h crash... well, that was the main purpose of this topic. My Honda pcx (and I) have survived with almost none injuries. The scooter had a broken numberplate and some of the plastics of the left-rear side. But that's all, I just wanted to point how strong...

Re: Braking Tutorial

Braking is one of the things you need to constantly train to keep the skills, even class one British Police riders do train emergency stops regularly. The main issue with emergency braking is not giving the weight transfer enough time to compress the front suspension and let the front tyre "dig...

Re: Another crash

deployed once in anger...well worth it. Do tell. Just a head on argument with an SUV taking the racing line through the right turn. Pity I was already waiting at the apex, 3/4 in on my lane to turn right... Picture 1 shows how I ended up, picture 2 was after the nice racing gentleman helped me put ...

Re: PMs don´t go out

Thanks for your help. I am able to reply, but the messages just don´t go out. I deleted a few sent messages but it still didn´t work.

Can you please send a PM to the admin to ask for help? Unfortunately I wasn´t able to send him any and the only way of communicating on here is publicly.

I want a giant airbag in a backpack with a deadman to the handlebars for this type of accident  You are the first to make the survivors list... twice I got this one in black: http://www.helite-motorcycle-airbagjackets.co.uk/motorbike-air-vest/26-turtle-high-visibilty.html A little expensive, b...

Re: Another crash

To be honest, looking at the pictures again, I don´t think that the speed of impact was 50 km/h. It takes much less speed to cause worse damage in my experience. Hence the driver must have slowed down...although waaay too late and certainly doesn´t take away any of his guilt, "only" the po...

Re: Another crash

I would think that with the driving test fresh in his mind, the car driver would know that a red light means STOP! A bloody a*sehole he is, period. Happy you are fine, definitely shows the benefit of back protection. One thing I learned from a very experience biking instructor: When stopped at a red...

Re: Insurance and security features

Does the PCX not have the HISS = Honda Ignition Security System ? The factory fitted immobiliser?

I got the Honda U-Lock and added it to the insurance quote.

Re: Brake pads.

After reading an article in German magazine "Scooter & Sport" I changed mine to Lucas TRW, as the article said that these give you a better and more progressive feel and also slightly better stopping power. The other alternative is Brembo, which costs a tenner less then the TRWs with s...

Ultra white running lights are vastly more conspicuous than 2,700k halogens. These new lights are one of the biggest safety advances ever to reduce...

blinding devices in traffic. . Stock headlights in motorcycles are woefully inadequate and are relegated to barely half the power consumption of what a halogen car legally gets. Why? We get 60 Watts for low beams and cars get 110. Why? And a car with factory HID's has twice the light of a halogen c...

Sendler, What you give us in your last post is a website from a vendor who wants to sell his products. Of course (as he wants to sell his products) he will not tell you the bad bits. Plus, the fact that he is allowed to sell the stuff does not mean that it is legal for use on the public road. Even i...

Forgot the legal disclaimer: If you don´t know what you are doing, don´t do it. Any fiddling around with your brakes is your problem, you do so at your own risk.

I believe that its one of the easier jobs to do but thats just me.
