Re: How-To: Install a windshield

Thanks Maddie Picked up a used but excellent Givi 322st, fitted for the 25 mile return journey. Accelerates quicker and doing the 40/50mph zones in Surrey/West London were very comfortable. The wind is hitting at collarbone level, I'm 5' 10"ish and helmet (full face flip) is quieter inside but ...

Re: accident.

I just wanted some advice OK, get mended and get back on bike, that's mine. Don't worry about the arguments, most posts here go off topic and they're not personal to you. Do heed the point that if you see an idiot on the road stay well clear. Like you say you were enjoying it so don't let others sp...

Re: accident.

Accidents happen, one may or may not wish to avoid them and talk about it later however there are some mad people out there so I recommend proactive measures as suggested. I have been riding a scooter for just over a month and have already seen two attempts by car drivers to impede other scooter's p...

Nice run, we have bridleways like that around London but scoots are not allowed on then.

Re: Cleaning .....

How are you guys applying the ACF-50 or equiv, and where. When I got my PCX made bit of a mess round the back wheel area and used a cloth to wipe the front forks.

Re: Premium brand petrol or supermarket fuel?

'brains_t' mentions Sainsbury's selling BP fuel 'without additives'. Am I correct and assuming this is done so that they can sell it for a few pence less, or do 'Nectar Point' offers etc? And what additives are they not er, adding? Bill I believe the big brands add engine cleaning additives and oth...

Re: Premium brand petrol or supermarket fuel?

Not on the same scale but Sainsburys have had problems with their fuel http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/9131132.Sainsbury_s_hit_by_bill_as_rogue_fuel_discovered/?ref=rss Anyway second fill up today (Shell), did 4 miles after the last bar started to flash. 124 miles and took 5.6 litres to get it...

Re: Handlebar muffs potential dangerous?

I will sure use the car or walk on snow or ice, still it can get pretty cold even without both of them. Those muffs I got are pretty standard, can't really adjust them in any way I am afraid. You must be referring to the deadly wind chill days, usually Jan/Feb around London when it is too cold for ...

Re: Premium brand petrol or supermarket fuel?

I regularly use Sainsburys' diesel in my Ford SMax (Big cage) and get better than average MPG. I used Shell and Aral for my cross Europe trips and notice no difference. I am surprised you have as I understand Sainsburys use BP fuels minus the additives. I have only filled my PCX once and I used Shel...

Re: It's official

I went to a friends house last night at 7.00pm. Was inside his house for about an hour having a coffee and a quick catchup, and went back outside to be greeted with a thick layer of ice on the pcx seat, that I had to scrape off with my glove! ... I read somewhere that frozen seats can split and it ...

Re: Michelin & Pirelli tyre suppplier

I second GN2's opinion. The stock tires will be more than fine. As Alibally noted, the tires will be a bit harder, so take it easy until the tires have a chance to warm up. This will explain the varying mileage people are getting from their tyres. Tyres harden and l wear much more in colder weather...

Re: What a washout!

Hi Snap, did my first wet run in London today. Had my PCX (white) for a week having completed the CBT on 8th. Clocked up 30 miles on two previous runs so I decided to try a wet 16 mile run today. Being an experienced commuting cyclist helps needing no encouragement to filter on the outside but am am...
