Re: Traffic Light Trigger
I remember a few years back Chris Tarrant (Morning show host on London's Capital Radio) saying that you could go all the way through Slough if you stuck to the 30mph limit with greens all the way. He added that this also worked at 120mph.....I miss that show

Re: Seat uncovered
I've had a couple of close calls when stopping and only putting one foot down. Once at a pump where I forgot about the diesel spill underfoot (I just managed to wedge my foot against the raised plinth but it was a close thing) and also right outside my house on loose chippings (wearing totally unsui...

Re: Seat uncovered
You'll lose a bit of room for a helmet though I presume. I can get both feet firmly planted and I have an inseam measurement of 29". You must have much shorter legs than me to warrant shaving anything off the seat. Will you be re-modelling the seat without the hump? I'd like to see the result i...

Re: Yet Another Seat Mod?
Considering the 'Heath Robinson' style of modding this is a decent effort, much better than anything I could have come up with. Thankfully the hump doesn't bother me too much even after an hour's riding. I'm just wondering why Honda, assuming they know of the problem, don't just fit a plain seat or ...

Re: Difference between a Scooter and a Motorcycle?
As Gn2 says, they are motorcycles. You won't get the 'arse -up' brigade rushing to acknowledge you on a scooter but I've always found motorcyclists snobbish about their chosen style of bike or even the badge on the tank. Funnily enough the tax disc on my PCX describes it as a Bicycle, so there you g...

Re: Another "I've just had my first accident" post :(
Glad you're okay mate. It's very difficult not to focus on where you're going to end up when you find yourself in this situation...it's a natural reaction. It's amazing how a two wheeler can cope with extreme lean angles and in all probability if you'd left the brakes alone (hard, I know) and concen...

Re: accident.
Hopefully it's all done and dusted now and, once the insurers get their act together, you'll be back on the road quickly. Hopefully too your Mum sees it as a learning experience for you. These things happen and riding a scooter isn't the most dangerous thing you can do in life. Please let us know ho...

Re: accident.
Dopey as the woman undoubtedly was, she too was probably in a state of shock. I'm glad to hear you have witnesses and they are standing by you. This should all be sorted swiftly and you shouldn't lose out in any way.

Re: accident.
Have you got witnesses? (It'd be doubly handy if there was somebody able to confirm what the other driver admitted to) Get the scooter professionally checked for cost of repair and confirm this against whatever the insurance assessor says. Go to your GP or hospital and get written confirmation of yo...

Re: Juddering Vibration recently in the cold weather
The only thing is.....it's not that cold! The PCX should easily be able to handle the temps that we in the South have been experiencing so far. I think the lowest overnight temperature on the coast has been about -1 so far, hardly Siberia. I think, if you are having an issue like this, you should ge...

Re: Premium brand petrol or supermarket fuel?
'brains_t' mentions Sainsbury's selling BP fuel 'without additives'. Am I correct and assuming this is done so that they can sell it for a few pence less, or do 'Nectar Point' offers etc? And what additives are they not er, adding? When I said my fuel figures may be a little less with regular fuel t...

Premium brand petrol or supermarket fuel?
I was just wondering what thoughts you all had on using supermarket fuel. As the PCX is mostly about economy I often use my local Sainsburys (a UK supermarket) for fuel. I occasionally use a nearby(ish) BP garage and have just noticed from my Fuelly account that I seem to get a good 5% or maybe even...

I buy Tesco (or similar) basics sponges and use a fresh clean one fresh each wash. Muc Off is very good but you need to rinse thoroughly after use.

Re: What a washout!
It's THAT time of year - watch out for leaves, the mulch can really cause a slide or worse. Manhole covers should always be avoided. The temperature is dropping too so black ice will be about especially in shaded areas. Sorry to worry newbies but this is advice from a fair few years of riding. Take ...

Re: PCX 300...?
I can understand Gn2's thoughts on the PCX. I love mine I really do but on my commute I have a choice of route for the last 10 or so miles. I could really do with being able to hit the M23 for this but because of the limitations of a 125 I have a convoluted diversion via country lanes (or through Cr...
