Re: PCX 150?

I like the way the Integra looks, but thats personal preference. Fuel economy isn't a selling point for me since I don't commute, the PCX is for enjoyment, as is my Miata. Ironically I prefer automatic on scooters but manual for cars :). I don't really like how the Integra looks, and I'd rather hav...

Re: PCX 150?

The NC700 series motorcycles look very nice, but I'm surprised to see so much interest on the PCX forum. It seems like the market for a 125cc scooter and a 670cc motorcycle would be very different. Besides the fact that it looks like a very capable motorcycle at a competitive price, what is the att...

Re: Honda NC700

I was talking 75-80 mpg us  53mpg US is basically as good as a Prius or any economy car driven really lightly (I got ~45mpg in my old Civic). I doubt the wife would approve of that low mpg. Well reality is that as soon as you hit 70+ mph, any bike or car is going to consume quite some f...

Well that's just about the average for motorcycles anyway. Granted, it's not much, but you could do worse ;)

Re: Honda NC700

From what I have read the redline is a bit lower and its geared for mileage. I'll be eyeing the dual clutch version as some of the reviews say you'll be changing gears like crazy. The dealers told me they won't have anything till June. Redline is at about 6500rpm, very much like a car engine from a...

Yup, but then I wonder, will they have to check the valves on every service? And how are they going to get to those valves, eh?

Re: Honda NC700

Those saddle cases and the big screen really round out the bike IMHO. Personally I'd probably go for the NC700S, but I'd have to testride them both to be sure. As for mileage, I don't think you can realistically expect more than 60ish US mpg (70 Imp) out of it if you use in town or on highways, but ...

Bump!

I'm thinking I really, REALLY want a NC700S or X with DCT and ABS. Honestly I'd dump my PCX in a heartbeat if I got a great deal..

Re: Variators for increased speed,

Never slipped in mine either. I think it's all a confidence issue. I've had days where I take turns hard and fast and days where I take them slow because I feel like the bike will slip out from under me. I'm sure that buying a tire that says it has "superior grip" gets in your head and gi...

My commute is very similar, with a bit more driving in town. I get about 100 Imp. MPG as well.

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)

As mine has got older it has got slower, down 5mph indicated. Now won't indicate more than 62mph before the limiter kicks in. Mileage is 7500, I suspect the culprit is drive belt/roller wear. Still does 100mpg though so no point doing anything about it just yet. Same here, but I think it has had a ...

Re: Bike for the Wife (and also me!) advice.

Just a wild guess here, but if it's too far to ride on a PCX, is it even worth the time, effort and money to work there? I mean, with the cost of gas and maintenance and such. FWIW, I live about 37km from my job, my guess is that for a relatively poor paying job, 60km would be the absolute limit. Wi...

fiah, i didnt know that, but seems ridiculous,as that cant be a correct level if the oil is around the engine, ive never checked oil in any other way in my life.... My motorcycle has a dry sump (separate oil tank), with the dipstick in the oil tank (not the sump). The only way to check the oil with a...
