Re: Best Time to Buy?

Not a new PCX, but I'm thinking of trading up to a Forza next year. I'm going to keep my powder dry until the spring in case this new model has any recalls etc. Plus I don't want to leave a brand-new machine outside in winter before it's got some miles under it's belt. (Have you tried one yet Gn2? I...

Re: How do you haul your scooters?

I'm with gn2 on this one. There aren't many people on this side of the pond who buy a motorcycle then transport it everywhere in/on the back of a truck etc. unless they are race bikes or very small scoots for running about a caravan park. I buy a bike to ride it everywhere.

Re: Convincing my mom

Back in the 70s I was still at home and 20 years old. I had my car licence but began getting interested in bikes (mostly through watching bike racing on TV) There was no peer-pressure as none of my mates had bikes or were interested in getting one. It was just me. But, like you, my mother didn't app...

Re: PCX 150 in the UK?

Personally I can't see it being too much of a problem. There are companies that can source right-hand drive BMWs, Mercs and many other European cars into the UK at a fair price. I think the PCX150 isn't that much different from the 125 to offer Type Approval issues so, with a little bit of homework,...

Re: "Solo M/C" parking - can I park in it all the time?

If there are no time restrictions posted you are free to park as long as you need. If I had issues with parking I would have a good look at my neighbourhood and fellow residents: are there folk with space on their property willing to let you park your PCX? I had an elderly neighbour who let me have ...

Re: 10000 miles last year

I'd tackle the servicing myself but don't have the confidence that I'd get the plastics off without doing damage. That's great mileage by the way and a fine testament to Honda's build quality. I had visions of my having around 4,000 miles on the clock in the first year but changes to my shift patter...

Impressive gauge watching Jhois1. if I tried that I'd end up the wrong side of a hedge lol

Re: Average fuel per bar?

I normally get 40-45 miles on the first bar, then the gauge drops but not really steadily (ie the next bars each extinguish themselves increasingly quickly) so that experience (and keeping on eye on the trip meter) is better for me than watching the gauge. On my last fill up with the last bar flashi...

Re: Curse You HONDA!!!

I don't think it will be £6k Kevin. If it were I'd (and had that amount of spare cash) I'd go for a nice used T-Max with all the trimmings. I'll be interested to see what those bonkers Thai owners do to their Forzas.

Re: Forking hell...

I've gone for Option 1 because you seem to have the ability to do the job and it will mean you know the forks are up to scratch.
If it were me though, I'd have brand new forks fitted (as I did on my old trusty SLR650)

Re: Curse You HONDA!!!

At the current exchange rate that would make the Forza £3850ish in the UK. I would think it won't work out exactly like that as there will be different add-ons cost-wise from the US so Gn2 wont be far out with his £4000-£4500 estimate..... a bargain, especially if it goes as good as it looks.

Welcome David, you've made a great choice of scooter (I have a 2012 PCX125). I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with it. Keep us posted.

Re: Anyone got a Caberg Duke Helmet? Does it fit?

I usually ride with an open-face lid so no problems with fit. However I do own a Caberg 'Justissimo' flip-up (Large) and that fits under my seat snugly. I'm not sure if the Duke is that similar though, sorry.

Re: New member - planning to get a UK PCX125 - advice?

Well KevinR from your last post the PCX should indeed be a most suitable scooter for you. You'll love it I'm sure. I have a couple of issues to sort out at work and with the final payment on my 4-wheeler (hooray) and in August I shall go Forza hunting depending on their availabilty. I also quite lik...

Re: New member - planning to get a UK PCX125 - advice?

I know the PCX125 will do 60mph but to my mind it doesn't feel nice at that speed so on a motorway I like to plod along at 50ish (if it's early morning and the road is empty I drop to an even lower speed than that at times) Unfortunately, to avoid a huge detour, I have to use the M23 on my return jo...

Gn2's tip is sound. I learned that valuable lesson when I owned a Spanish (Montessa) built Honda SLR650. New forks certainly aint cheap.

Re: New member - planning to get a UK PCX125 - advice?

You won't enjoy 70mph stretches of road on the PCX. It's not designed for it and cage drivers won't appreciate or sympathise with you struggling against a headwind. I did my 30 mile commute to Gatwick this morning and the last 11 miles on the M23 (I only went that way because it was 4am and the road...

Re: Outdoor storage

My PCX has spent it's life outside since June 2012. It is covered by an Oxford rain cover, for keeping prying eyes away more than anything. Apart from a little rust on the brake disc rotor it's fine. I find that regular use is your best friend as moisture can build up under the cover anyway.Better t...

Re: 2014 Honda Forza

Think i would prefer a better looking, 300cc S-wing.... I keep looking over at the big SYM's! Same here. I'm keeping an eye on the Forza for now but have the Maxsym or the Downtown in reserve (choice could purely be down to dealer location) I haven't discounted the X10 either. I'd love a 300 PCX (w...
