Re: godamnit... I just 'failed' my CBT! :(

Well done. I have bad hearing loss and can not use a radio. On cbt I was given directions. I would then stop and get more directions. Did same when I passed my DAS. Who needs radio gear :-) That's basically what happened to me on my test, I too am profoundly deaf in both ears. In my case the use of...

Re: Got my LEDs fitted!

Those LED's do look the part andI like them. Would I pay £110, I doubt it (Besides I can't offard it). Does that price include the labour of your Honda dealer to fit them?

Re: to AVOID on the road

Here in the UK avoid the metal manhole covers, also at this time of year the farmers seem to be putting most of their fields onto the roads too!!

125 uk miles before chickening out, as others have said, pushing is like too much exercise (not to say the least, the embarressment of people watching you push the PCX!!)

Re: Am i the biggest wimp on the site

Roads salted last night and this morning, still riding mine (It lives outside too) I'm too tight fisted to pay the £31 per month parking permit charge (bike is free) or the £5 per day charge!!
Bad Ice yes I'll use the car maybe!

Re: Lost my hump for £30

That looks good, must admit I'm a bit fed up with that hump, it stores water too well!! I'll have to have a look around locally to see what uphosterers there are around here, unless the part time one where I work could do it!

Re: New PCX Owner in Dorset, England

Hello and welcome to this forum. I 'downgraded' from a Honda deauville NT700 (Which I still have parked in the garage) It is cheaper for me to run the PCX to/from work than either my car or the Deau. To date I seem to average around the 112mpg mark.

Re: Termoscud or trousers?

I wear snowboarding / skiing pants over my normal pants... Er, trousers. Same thing. Anyways, if I could get one cheap, I'd use a thermoscud. They're much better for keeping you warm than pants. I wore ski trousers and found them OK until tonights torrential downpour, I got a wet arse so going to l...

Re: How to protect my scooter over winter?

as i said....£40 spent on a optimate will be money well spent............ Yes this is OK if you have access to mains, but being parked in a carpark negates this option, however, I've heard that solar chargers like those in Maplins are OK http://www.maplin.co.uk/search?criteria=solar+battery+charger...

Re: Tire choice source in the US

No matter how good the tyres are, when it's wet I just can't seem to force myself to lean, in the dry it seems fine. Guess good tyre reviews just give me a bit more confidence, on the straight no problems. Although more tyre choice is best but with only 3 to pick from, that's a lot less headache ;)...

Hello and welcome to this forum

Petrol prices here in the UK are definitely on the high side, that was the reason I bought the PCX, my car now spends most of the time on the driveway now!

Re: My New PCX

you will definitely need good waterproof trousers, as the weak point on the PCX is the water pooling by the hump! Also it is surprising how long that spot under the hump can retain the water, I've had a wet arse more than once due to that

That's odd, I have the PCX125, and I can get up to 67 (ish) mph out of it, not the 62.5mph?

I can see where djcat is coming from, like me he has done the IAM skills for life course on a bigger bike. At the end of the day all we are trying to do is give an inexperienced rider helpful advice to better them selves.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Standard screen in my opinion is useless, I got a givi one, which is better but I should have spent a little more and got the taller one. That is the only mod I have done to the bike and I am more than happy with it.

Re: Mistakes whilst riding.

Thanks for your replies, they've made me feel a bit better :) I did my CBT in mid-July so I'm still a learner at the moment. At least being a learner in a car means the instructor can stop you when you're about to do something wrong! I will keep practising and hopefully get a bit better. I will als...

Re: Mistakes whilst riding.

This is all part of a very steep learning curve for you both. We are all human and we all make mistakes. learn from them and don't dwell on them either. When merging onto a dual carriageway, what is/was your road positioning? Ideally you need to be at least in the middle section of the slip road or ...
