About 3 -5 kph slower than a 125 with J Costa. Depending on your weight.

Re: Age old question - 87 or premium

Harley motor drag bike guys use lower octane fuel in their race bikes because the flash point is at a lower temperature and spread out more on the top of the piston. I think you'll find they use lower octane because it detonates faster thereby giving more power at the risk of a hotter combustion. T...

They do. 8)

Only US , Canada and Brazil use a different system.

Ron x 0.95 = AKI

So 91 x .95 = 86.5 (87)

Re: HONDA PCX COOLANT

Basic rule of thumb? Match colour to colour so if the coolant is green from the factory replace/top up with green etc. Mineral stuff is green/yellow. Organic is Orange. Your profile doesn't state where you are. So we don't know if you need primarily corrosion protection or freeze protection for wint...

Re: PCX water overheat issue ( red light icon )

^Sorry but the plugs don't heat themselves up nor do they cause more heat to be produced. They differ in construction so the plug either retains or dissipates the heat it is subjected to but it doesn't add to the overall heat of the engine.

Re: Trade the PCX for this PCXish motorcycle?

VFR is a great bike but they tend to run a bit warm. For the rider that is. Here in Thailand they are almost unbearable in slow traffic. If you ride on the open roads should be Ok. I only mention this as I think Florida is hot. It may not be? Read lots of tests reviews. There might even be a VFR for...

Re: Just rollers vs complete variator

Scooty is your speed from speedo or GPS?

I ask because no body seems interested in J Costa but they will do 125 KPH/78 mph (indicated) on the flat and 128/80mph slightly downhill. On a 125! Stock belt simply bolt it on.

Heavy rider knocks that down about 3 kph.

Re: Just rollers vs complete variator

OK for undoing it. As long as you fully support the variator, which is best done by jamming the tool next to a case stud.

My rattle gun heads up was not directed at you just a general note.

Re: Just rollers vs complete variator

Read the variator manual.

60Nm is about right. Or 45 lbft or 6 Kgm.

I would recommend against using a rattle gun. Crankshafts are press fitted together so there are no splines. Using a rattle gun can under some circumstances twist the crank and alter the balance.

Re: PCX water overheat issue ( red light icon )

Where do you live? What ratio of coolant to water are you using? Is the temp. sensor any good? Are you losing coolant?
It is also possible you are advancing the timing too much and leading to engine overheat?

The ABS is front wheel only, unless I'm mistaken. I've never locked up my front wheels before. Both wheels in Thailand. The new Tricity ( three wheels) also gets the 155cc engine. Are ALL riders in scooter promotional videos 5'1" tall?!! This guy makes that little scooter look like it has the ...

Funny that the parts are in Thailand but they won't ship here!

If anyone want some gold bits i can walk to Honda for you.

How about I set up as a personal shopper? 15% of the items value + postage +public transport (don't need for Honda) +10 bucks a job?

Re: Best way of getting rid of tailgaters ?

Dave nowhere,

There's only two roads out 1 and 3 as you are not being tailgated on the Coquihalla? Is the limit on 1 and 3 80 kph or higher? Used to be 90 but...maybe now 110?

So you are riding at the limit and guys catch you up?

Either ride faster or wave them by.

Re: Degradation... NCY vario kits, drive faces & rollers

I am about to install the NCY variation, etc. on my wife's bike. I am going to use her standard belt. It has about 3,000 miles on it. I wonder if that cogged belt would be better? Let us know what happens with that once you get it. I think having another option is good. NYC has a 14deg angle wherea...

Re: PCX150 - Vario150 Belt Swap

Walked to Honda today. I thought the brive face boss might be longer by about 1 - 1.2mm to go with the thinner belt like adding a fuzzy washer, but it is not. However to to go with the new belt the E,F & G models have different variator pulley, different drive face pulley and different weights. ...

Re: PCX150 - Vario150 Belt Swap

OK so Previous belt 23100- KZY-701 details are : 822 x 21.6 x 30 New belt 23100- K36-J01 details are: 822 x 22.1 x 11.2 So the question is what and how does the thinner design benefit performance. Slightly wider I can see giving a minuscule advantage in speed but not sure about the thickness. Could ...
