Re: Rollers vs Sliders ? Which is better

I would think one has to be careful because not all weight manufactures use the same plastic. So they won't all wear the same. Also NYC suits certain rider requirements but it may not suit all.

Re: Rollers vs Sliders ? Which is better

I want to assure you the tools and skill to swap out the stock parts is easy and fun if you are any kind of wrench at all. Yes you will feel decent acceleration and confirm the better mph immediately. You will not get the better fuel mpg with this vario setup. It will not damage or hurt your invest...

Re: Rollers vs Sliders ? Which is better

Dash, You've lost me there. So you have mixed weights OK the average being 17.5gms which I understand and you have mixed sizes as Dr Pulley are dimensionally different. What I do not fully understand is how you attribute the acceleration to the heavier and bigger Dr. Pulleys and the fuel economy to ...

Obviously they get flat spots because they do NOT roll.

Just to muddy the waters. The latest iteration of Dr. Pulley

As you can see these have a smaller area to reduce friction

Homie,

They rattle around at idle but they do NOT roll in operation. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. Obviously you could not find two hard cover books :)

Re: Rollers vs Sliders ? Which is better

The first thing to consider is that round weights do NOT roll. More accurately the first thing to consider is terminology? The are all weights not rollers/sliders. They all slide they are simply different shapes. Being squeezed between two fixed ( in on plane) surfaces does not allow them to roll. T...

This right?

Part #5

You have to spread the spring clip (#14) and slide it back along the tube. If you have done that insert a large screwdriver between the end of the tube what is next to it and twist the screwdriver.

Re: Bike running at

The lenght of the standard boss is 47.5mm. Some variators  use longer (50mm). You should use whatever came with the kit. On a stock or modified stock variator the ramp plate is splined onto the shaft. Sometimes these can stick. Make sure the ramp plate is butting up against the step on the cra...

Re: PCX Police Bike

It is a faux police bike from Sor Wor Por. An electronics shop presumably selling police style widgets. Their phone number in Chiang Mai province ends in 7128. They have other branches. The writing on the side says Chiang Mai.
Add to that there is no word police or a Royal Thai Police crest?

Re: Usable Accessory Amps for 2015 PCX150?

So far I've added: * Voltage Monitor (0.085A max) I'm trying to decide if I have the electrical capacity to run heated jacket liner (6.4A max) and gloves (2.2A). I'm also considering a pair of Clearwater Glenda lights (2A total on high). My gut tells my I could probably run the gloves OR the lights...

Re: Bike running at

^ You don't absolutely have to remove the clutch. Before tightening the variator nut squeeze the upper and lower lengths of the belt together in the middle to force it down into the clutch. This takes any tension off the belt and prevents you from getting the belt squashed between the pulley halves ...

Re: Poll the Grom...

The MSX125 or Grom or the previous Monkey bike community are about as far removed from a scooter community as you could get. They have more in common with Yamaha R1 than a CVT scooter. Like the man said gibbon to human. Anyway there are plenty of Grom forums, even though most of their stuff is for t...

I use foam covers like this. Cheap and comfortable and come in different colours. http://img.banggood.com/thumb/view/upload/2012/liangping/SKU082664%20(1).JPG I slip them over existing grips and secure with hair spray. They also come as a single tube which one cuts in half. http://www.ebolt.co.uk/ek...
