Re: Speeding Letter

Man, I would hate living in the UK. I typically ride 10MPH over the speed limit, if not more. Am I a threat to society?
You bet! Because I ride a big bad scooter!!!

Re: 2013 Performance

So, this would be a more usable scooter in the midwest if; It would comfortably cruise at 70 with a little more reserve power. Had double the fuel capacity Had no hump on the seat. Honda could do that for $100 to $200 extra from the factory and it would be all I would ever want in a two wheeled com...

Re: we dont forget...

I take it we're forgiving Budweiser, but what for? Is it their shockingly awful product or this utterly cringeworthy advert? Or both? Well as we can see from gn2, political related posts based in one country don't necessarily translate well for the rest of the world. They may have their place elsew...

Re: Maximizing your Dr. Pulley sliders

Amazing! link me to a set for my scoot and I will get some on order for a cold, cold Chicago winter night. Go search in Ebay. There are plenty of Dr. Pulley sellers there. No need to search E-bay. Here in the states you can get a set for about $30. http://www.partsforscooters.com/169-259_Dr_Pulley_...

Re: Big bike to scooter

Welcome to the club. I traded in my Ninja 500 which was faster but not nearly as much fun. My first 2 wheeler was a 1986 Honda Elite 250, so I guess I am a hardcore scooter nut. The Harley riders around here don't want anything to do with me. If there is one in the next lane, they speed up in an obv...

Re: Rotella t 5 oil

Manual states 10w-30 oil with JASO MB. JASO MB is a Japanese oil society spec meaning lowest coefficient of friction. The only oil I ever found to carry that spec is Hondas oil. Even then my dealer does not stock it. We have what's called a dry clutch. The main reason for the JASO MA2 MA MB specs. ...

Nice mileage. BTW, some of us buy a 1/2 gallon of full synthetic motor oil for about the same price. :P

Re: How a CVT works - youtube

I should add to your list - no electric start... because the next bike that I would love to have (in addition to the PCX) is the new-old Yamaha SR400 . On the other hand, I don't need it for daily transport, just for fun riding, as I'm retired. Um... what? What are you talking about? CBR300/300F ar...

Re: Rotella t 5 oil

I actually use Rotella T-6 full synthetic. It exceeds the specs. I think it's an oil designed for Diesel engines. The spec I recognise is mb228.31, that's for diesel trucks. And yes it is designed to work well in Diesel engines, but that doesnt mean you can only use it in a Diesel. That just means t...

Re: Max miles per tank?

I don't even play that game.
Fuel gauge starts flashing around 100 miles and I hit the next gas station.

Running out of gas once will do that to you. (Have fun pushing to the station)

Oh and I ran out at 126miles. Probably because I was in a hurry the previous fill and did not top off. DOH!!

Re: Maintaining a charge on the battery?

I dont know anything about the GPS alarm since I dont have one, but I would. - Remove battery and bring it up to apartment. - Attach jumpers to battery and plug the jump starter in to charge both the internal jump start and PCX battery. This is what I do in the winter since I have not bought a trick...

My last service on my PCX 150 here in Pattaya was the equivilant of 4 UK pounds......done without appointment, while i waited (and it was hot and sunny when i rode home in my shorts and T shirt).... And... Whoopee shit. Why do you feel the need to constantly carp on about how cheap things are in Th...

slickvic↲ ↲ tell me how does the 30yr old elite compare to the young whipper snapper pcx ? Well the PCX accelerates a bit faster up to 50MPH. I plan on putting lighter variator weights in the Elite 250 next time I service it. The Elite will top out around 70Mph where as my PCX tops out at 60-65 dep...

My last helmet was a modular but it had quite a bit of wind noise, so I got this one which was also rated high:
