You can also record your gas purchases at Fuelly - https://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/honda/pcx150 They will keep a tally of your mileage stats for you.

...use ethanol free gas. Apparently, 99% of the gas pumps have 10% ethanol in the fuel. Gasoline has 114,000 BTU/Gal Ethanol has 76,100 BTU/Gal Expect better MPG with ethanol free gas. We watched peak MPG on our Civic drop from 42 to 38 when they started blending 10% ethanol into our gas. Unfortuna...

Re: Big Brother to PCX

Honda US says: 2013 PCX $3449 153cc 286lbs 102mpg 2014 Forza $5599 279cc 422lbs 68mpg Without HP numbers, it’s hard to compare power-to-weight ratio, but at a glance PCX has the advantage. If the PCX left me wanting more speed the Forza would turn my head. But aside from one time climbing a steep hi...

I call it a bike
If someone wants particulars, I'll 'splain it.

Back in the olden days, "moped" indicated it had pedals.

Re: Problems with PCX125 Seat

Unlatching the seat is not a job, but sometimes I find it convenient that it doesn’t latch without effort. If I’m running errands, and am frequently diving into the under-seat storage, I like that I don’t have to unlatch it.

Re: MC Endorsement

Laws vary widely. Here the written test gets you a permit which is good for riding anything on two wheels. The only restrictions are no pilon, rides after sundown, and permit lasts only one year. Full license test requires simple maneuvers on a course designed to frustrate riders who can’t handle a ...

Normal cornering should really be mastered first. Attempting to "learn" counter steering can be enormously counter productive. Due to a similar conversation on a local forum, a new rider spent weeks trying to learn how counter steer. He was nearly ready to throw in the towel and consider ...

It's true! It is ugly, but you get past that real fast when you reap the rewards of the tall screen protection.

Re: Gas to put in my PCX 150

Higher octane does not mean it burns hotter, it only means it requires more compression and/or a hotter spark to ignite. Some engines generate so much heat on the compression stroke that they can ignite lower octane fuel before the spark plug fires... i.e. Detonation(knocking). cessna151 is right o...

Re: Givi 323 tall windscreen

Congrats on the new screen! What a difference, huh? You may want to ride a few more times with the screen before you make any mods. I’ve never had a problem with distracting reflections. Perhaps you were out at the precise time of day to be going a specific direction that would direct a bad glare. I...

Ha! My first few tanks provided the best mileage. Tanks 3, 4, 5 all netted above 100 MPG. Driving more aggressively after I gained confidence drove mileage numbers down. Now I'm taking it easy to get my numbers back up.

Re: Bike security - Locks?

Many owners of 50cc bikes don’t bother to get them titled in their own names, and don’t get them licensed. A stolen 50cc bike is much harder to trace if the state (police) has no record of it. Maddie’s suggestion of a cover is excellent advice. Before I had a garage I bought a 9x9 tarp from Home Dep...

Re: Got my first and new scooter! PCX150!

Congrats on the new scoot!

Don’t expect the bike to go faster with the windshield, but you may find it easier to ride at full speed with the wind off your chest. Then if you’re always riding WOT, it will reduce MPG.

The tall Givi windshield gives excellent wind protection.

Have fun!

Re: Givi 323 tall windscreen

Tall Givi effects: My tolerance for cold had me off the bike at anything below 50 degrees. After installing the tall Givi, I rode as low as 25 degrees. May have ridden in colder weather, but it didn’t get any colder on the days I was out. Wind buffeting above 45 MPH made me avoid freeways. Amazing d...
