Re: routine 2 riders

I was editing the above post but got timed out. Here's the bit I was changing - Don't forget this scooter is really designed for use in towns and cities, something at which it excels, and where 60+mph speeds could/should/will cost you your license. The fact that it can be used for longer journeys or...

Re: routine 2 riders

^ Hear, hear (or is it here, here - I don't know - anyway), my feelings exactly. I don't think Honda needs to take lessons from anybody. The pcx is what it is and we all bought it having read reviews and having seen Honda's tech specs for it. Speaking personally, I saw the mpg figure and thought WOW...

Re: Finally a new owner to a White PCX

That panel in your pics is an absolute bastard to change. Unless you have experience doing this sort of thing leave it to them to change. You have to remove most of the other panels before you can remove this one, so maybe you can get them to change the others at the same time.

Re: KTM 125 Duke.

I've just signed away the KTM and the PCX  I got £3800 trade in for the two against a brand new 690. That's a better price than I was expecting. I will really miss the pcx - I have it for another week before I get the 690 so I'll have to get as many groceries as I can before then. Anybody inter...

Old thread but, take a look at what happened yesterday - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-n ... d-19716141 scroll down to the second video for the sea foam (do not put this in your petrol tank as a stabiliser)

Re: Spot the difference - it's not the clock

I've got hot grips fitted. The switch (just a small round one - off, low heat and high heat), was placed through the plastic near the instruments above the ignition switch as gn2 says.

Re: If I won the lottery...

If the the BMW was a reasonable price then I'd be interested. But I think they must be relying on their customer base coming from lottery winners :? There can't be many people prepared to fork out that amount of cash for one. On the plus side, second hand values may be very low like the Piaggio MP3 ...

Re: KTM 125 Duke.

I've come up with another idea - keep the pcx so I've got a frugal, practical bike and see if I can find a decent KTM 690 R. The 690's go for about £5500 - £6000 for a decent one.

Re: Piaggio X10

No. Nor are you paying £850 for a pcx. Look at it this way - pcx £1200, Duke £2800 or more like Duke £2900+ and pcx £1200.
See you're already making money ;)

Doing that is one of my dreams. I'd love to do the Med coast too.

Lovely. And sunshine too :D

Seriously
Tell you what, give me £4000 and you can have the PCX and the KTM. That's a fair price.

Re: KTM 125 Duke.

KTM is now for sale. Anyone interested? I've put it on ebay at more than it cost me because similar bikes (some with higher milage) are being sold for higher prices. But I'm open to offers. I've already been offered £2500 for it on a trade in against a Piaggio X10 - which seems like a good deal to m...

Re: Drive belt

Costs were: 1 hr work at £48 + Belt at £40.42 + Roller set at £11.16 + taxes at £19.92 = £119.50 At my last house I had a big double garage with a load of tools but now I'm stuffed into a single shared with a load of junk so working on the scoot myself is a pita. On the plus side I did get to play w...

CRF 250 L

Not mine but may be of interest. Did 150 miles on a CRF 250 L yesterday while my scoot was in getting a new drive belt. Very nice easy ride on twisty stuff and through town. Good high seating position but I could still get both feet flat on the floor (I'm 5'10"). I took it on some rough farm tr...

Re: Piaggio X10

Guess who's been sitting on an X10 :) Very plush. The thing that got me most was the width of its seat. Its very spacious and comfortable and I can imagine it would be great for long distance touring. The under seat storage compartment was an odd shape and not very deep, it might be awkward for shop...
