Re: 2021 pcx oil drain bolt torque specs

I have a torque wrench but hardly ever use it, especially on the smaller nuts. I've changed the oil lots of times over seven years of ownership and still use the same washer (flip it occasionally) - no leaks and just tighten by what feels right without excessive force.

Re: Which tyres are recommended for good milage/grip on the Forza 300/350?

Scootsmart are those that most places in London want to fit, but they do not get good reviews - poor handling and rain performance so if that's all they are willing to fit I am not interested. Cheap and good margins for the dealers / garages. Stick with MCG if you can get them - they just work very ...

Re: 2019 PCX Dash/Clock Issues

My 2014 LED PCX battery is still working fine - scooter stored outside all year round and starts 1st time and runs fine. Seven years and counting, no trickle charge ever and not used the start-stop feature.

Great - would much rather have a key than keyless - lots of Forza owners on FB have recently commented they do not like the keyless at all.

Re: Steering headstock bearings

If it rides fine then forgot dealer services - just do it yourself, often just occasional oil change and coolant check. Worry about the supposed notches when it goes for it's MOT - they should check and fail it for this. You can raise the front of the bike a bit so the steering turns free end to end...

Re: comparison of PCX/SH/Forza 125s

Far too many people post issues with the new 2021 Forza 125's stating they are sorry they traded earlier models (FB Forza page) so if I had to buy a new scoot I'd stick with PCX or for longer rides consider a different bike, as it's quite costly circa £5000.

Not got anything like that on my 7 year old PCX rotor, and that's with London's dirty salty roads and all year riding. There may be odd little bits, but not to that extent.

Re: new tires

Mitchelin City Grip 2 now fits both front and back (on the PCX anyway) - there is no front or back individual MCG2 for these bikes anymore. The orginal MCG comes in two flavours.

If you can rotate the handlebars that easily, I'd have no confidence they are fit to ride with.

I've also given a little throttle when pulling the brake lever - only very occasionally but at times. I've still got the original levers on my 2014 but have never been a fan as I have normal length fingers not long ones. I fit RST large textile gloves perfectly but most other gloves in different siz...

Re: Handlebar alignment

Mine were 4 degree's off when I rode off from a garage (front tyre change, had them do it again as they did not fit the tyre I ordered and paid for, just some cheap crap). Very hard to ride as you are constantly fighting things and the bike wobbles - very dangerous. Never liked this garage and won't...

Likewise - would prefer a normal key and not worried about traction control - all the more to go wrong and more expense to maintain. 7+ years without ABS, just CBS and never a problem.

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

Iceman, I wouldn’t think there’d be much difference at all in tire performance between a 125 PCX and a 150/160. My limited experience so far on my 2021 160 with the IRC tires is a very positive . I’d even say they grip about as good as the Pirelli Diablos I had on another scooter. How have IRC tire...

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

Excellent succinct and thorough evaluation, iceman. That's on a 125, but a meaningful contribution nevertheless. Well, the thread does say 160/125 owners not just 160 :) As to IRC's not lasting long, strange, as those that put them down usually put it to being they are too hard so do not grip as mu...

Re: Any idea when the 2021 PCX will hit the USA?

In Europe, the gauges read high, often by %10 so you cannot get accurate measurements referring to the built in speedo's. Not sure if it's the same world-wide, but the GPS vs on bike speedo results above agree with this.

Re: Vibrating engine.

There has been cases of shuddering from clutch slippage, caused by going to gentle from take off for too long - starting off with more throttle for a day or so often cleans the clutch plates. Not sure if that's what you are getting.

Re: 2021 PCX 160/125 owner’s review thread

Many hate IRC tyres and love MCG's - I had the original IRC's on my PCX for over 5 years and rode all year round, sun, rain and all through winter - never had any issues. Had 13,500 miles on my rear IRC and nearly 20,000 on my front before it got close to legal tread.

I believe all the ESP engines had the starter/alternator combo - it is also how the idle stop works as the crank always defaulls to a known positition so the engine can start immediately.

Re: 2021 PCX’s arriving at U.S. Honda dealers!

Keyless models may not get stolen but theives do lots of expensive damage busting the ignition area / plastics. Happened a few times. It probably does help theft wise but I would never trust that in London. Much less hassle without it, less to go wrong and may as well use chains and such for theft p...
