New PCX Hauler

We've used the heck out of our travel trailer the last year with COVID, so we ended up getting an upgrade... A big upgrade. Instead of towing a trailer with the Tacoma, we're now camping in a motorcoach. The best part is, we can now take the PCX with us on a hitch hauler! 8) We've already put 5k mil...

Re: New theme

I changed the background to make it a bit less BRIGHT. You may need to clear your browser cookies for the site for the theme to refresh. It looks like people have provided workarounds for a few UI changes - thank you Limey and GN2 for that. Everything is stable and functional otherwise - and my emai...

Re: Spam

I somehow broke my PM notifications when I switched to the new forum software. Thanks WN for emailing me directly.

I nuked a bunch of spam and will be tweaking the antispam countermeasures yet again.

WN, thanks for all your hard work keeping the spam at bay! :D

I added a little star to any unread topic too. I think that should help.

Re: SPAM (and not the processed meat variety)

It looks like the new forum engine allowed a bunch of spam through. I've nuked a bunch of it and updated the spam countermeasures... Please PM me if you see spam so I can act on it quickly. Thanks everyone!

Re: New theme

Thanks for the feedback Old Scoot. I think I updated the forum headers to make the Unread Posts more usable.

On the Board Index, blue circle means no unread in that forum and green circle means there's unread in that forum. It's a subtle difference.

Re: New theme

I was having some issues with the theme and had to manually clear caches a few times. Every time that would happen, it would have logged you out.

I think I'm done and that issue should be cleared up now. Let me know if not!

Re: Help the forum! Donate today!

Software updated! The new site's more secure and a bit more modern looking. The features are about the same though - for now. Me and my wife are potentially undergoing a major career change yet again, and parenting a 3 year old and 7 year old takes up a lot of time, so no private hosting for now. Lo...

New theme

Hiya everyone!

The forum somehow got all out of whack, so I had to rebuild from backup. When I did so, I updated to the latest version with a new theme, hence everything looking different.

If you notice anything not working, please let me know so I can fix it!!

Cheers, and safe riding! 8)

Thank you to Chris753 for your donation. I have updated your rank and badge. Thank you to Oldtimer79 for your donation. I have updated your rank and badge. I just renewed the forum's hosting for 3 years - at a cost of $359. They've jacked up hosting on me, so I may be updating the site to more moder...

Mel, sorry to hear y'all sold Freddi's scooter. Lots of good memories on that I'm sure. If you ever are in the mood for a ride some weekend, don't hesitate to text me. Maddie's too old to ride nowadays, but I'm still down for a ride. COVID means we'd have to social distance and all that nonsense, bu...

Re: Is it reasonable to take a PCX on a cross country trip

I did lots of wide-open-throttle trips on my first PCX. That little scoot spent 3/4 of its life at wide open throttle before I sold it with over 10k miles on it. I think my longest day was a 600 mile trip. That scooter didn't let me down once. I shouldn't have sold it. The PCX I have now is the same...

"it’s been Stolen, running around from the cops in fields Without a Gas cap and ignition lock switch" oh boy, I would have ran. This was a fun saga to read though. Sounds like you're having fun fixing it, even if it is frustrating. -Tensioner - have you actually checked the timing ch...

Re: Rear tire wear?

The siping on the sides is good, so it is probably not too bad even in the wet in corners. Stopping's where the issue will happen, because your back wheel will just lock up and you'll be sideways. I'd have gotten that replaced a few thousand miles ago, as alx123 and Mel suggested.

Re: Effects of Extended Use At/Near Governed Top Speed

These scooters are tuned very conservatively. I've done lots of 100+ mile days many times, with most of that at the limiter with no issues. You'll be just fine - my only advise is to leave a bit of extra braking room, since your scooter does not have anti-lock brakes (ABS) and to make sure you keep ...
