Re: Thinking of buying PCX125

When I was looking to replace my cheap Chinese scoot, my mechanic recommended I buy a Vespa and plan to budget for maintenance and repairs. In the next breath, he said it was a good thing everyone didn’t ride a Honda or he wouldn’t have a job. After eight months, and 1400 miles, I couldn’t be happie...

Re: Idle Stop Accident

I see there are no Americans responding to this thread...

Unmanned flight isn’t a problem here in the US as we don’t have idle stop. Not only that, but we have a government mandated feature that doesn’t allow you to unfasten the seat belt until the key is removed from the ignition.

I think you had to get the convenience package with the convertible to get central locks in the 2006 model. Anyone else here got the 2006 model?

Re: How far can a PCX go on a tank?

All depends on how you ride... I've recorded anywhere from 78 to 118 MPG (US). Multiply that times the number of gallons in your tank, and you'll know how far you can go.

It's Snowing........

Yesterday we set a record snowfall of 12.4" for March 24. Last year we got half that much all winter.
BUT the forecast for next weekend is 60F!

Re: Not strictly PCX

OOPS!!! Silverwing IS still available.

Earlier this year they named only the Metropolitan and PCX150 as current 2013 models. Now they are listing the Ruckus50 and Silverwing as 2013 models too.

Sorry for the misstatement.

Re: Handlebar Muffs

I have used ScootR Logic hand mitts most of this winter. They’re not high tech, but satisfactorily designed. They take about five seconds each to put them on. I’ve left them on for weeks at a time. They come off in about three seconds. I’m seriously allergic to the cold, so my insulated leather glov...

In the global market, the North American market is insignificant in scooter sales. It's all about motorcycles here.

Re: Want a PCX but prices are crazy around here

I did see some better deals midwest and south, but out west they must be selling like hotcakes... ...we considered the Sym HD200 which had fuel injection, liquid-cooled, disc brakes front AND rear -- cost was close to the same. Displacement was larger, but top speed about the same (governor???). .....

Re: Honda PCX - Back from First Ride

You may find that much of the wind striking your wife's helmet is coming from the gap at the bottom of the windscreen. Try taping it over or otherwise sealing the gap and see if that helps. I have the tall Givi, and it has that gap too, but I have no frontal wind. In fact, at high speeds, I can red...
