The DCT has two modes, drive and sport. I have been riding as conservatively as possible in drive mode since buying the bike, to try get the best fuel economy (I'm a bit of a cheap skate that way), but on red hill I tried out the sports mode. Sports mode is FUN!!! It actually felt like a 750cc bike, for a change, with power always there on the throttle, and good engine braking to prep for the next corner.

Riding in drive mode is pretty dull, and it feels like you're put putting along, with the gears always in the highest gear possible. I actually have more fun in my PCX, then the NC 750x in auto drive mode.

The NC750X claims great mileage and there is an offset to that - you have to drive so carefully and for many, it's simply boring. I would likely be in sport mode most of the time. Would be interesting to find out the mileage difference between drive and sport over sustained periods.

I live pretty close to SAB breweries which is sited on an underground spring which the brewery uses to make their top notch beers. I believe the spring is historically public access, so SAB has to keep it open for public use. They have however made the collection place very nice, and people in the know come from far and wide to collect free spring water.

My two bikes together. I've put some reflective tape on the top box of the scooter. Still need to do the same for the bike.

That's an easy one. Without a doubt the PCX. The bike is only better on open roads and strong crosswinds. If I even park the bike on a hint of a decline, like any side of the road camber, It would take me half an hour to bounce it out in reverse. Ive been stuck like that twice now.

Thanks - I knew it but I wanted some of the folks looking to "upgrade" to larger bikes to maybe realize what they are giving up. If you are a high speed commuter it may make some sense. For a recreational rider - not so much.

wei2go's motorcycle has a 32" seat height and high center of gravity. That may have a lot do with the lack of ease pushing it around.

The Honda CTX 700N DCT has a 28" seat height and low center of gravity. Very user friendly! :D

Always park nose pointing uphill so you can roll it backwards downhill.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Yup, but if the gradient is very slight, its not always easy to tell when you are in a rush. It was never much of an issue with the pcx

Cool. I just googled the ctx. I like the look of the naked version. I plan on doing a bit of off roads eventually, which the NC is more suited

Yup. I live on a 4th floor apartment, with a mountain view, which is a few km away. Its devastating yet impressive watching the mountain in flames. There hasn't been a fire like this since 2000

I have a optimate 2 battery tender http://optimate-battery-charger.co.za/

I added the permanent lead to the NC750 http://optimate-battery-charger.co.za/s ... ead-sae-71

And a 12v cigarette socket accessory http://optimate-battery-charger.co.za/s ... ket-sae-76

I plan on using it to charge my mobile devices when I eventually get around to a longer road trip. Its all directly linked to the battery though, instead of being keyed to turn off. Its a bit of a risk, but definitely a cheaper, simpler option.

Yes - I did the same on my 2013 PCX. I am up to 5 BTs. o_O 2 Scoots, ATV, RV Battery, and John Deere lawn tractor. My wife said what are all of these green lights in the garage.

Are they getting the fires out?

I sooooooo wish they would bring the CTX to Oz instead of the porky and rather useless Integra (sorry, but Honda stuffed that one up, neither the best parts of a scooter nor the best parts of a motorbike... just .... too darn heavy and useless).

After 1000km on the NC750x DCT, I still prefer the PCX150. The light scoot is soooo much easier to handle. If only I lived in a place with less freeways and strong crosswinds.....

My significant other prefers riding pillion on the NC due to the better rear suspensions. We did a full day out last weekend , putting close to 200km, with no complaint. Our previous best was about 100km on the PCX, after which, she was crying blue murder.
