My PCX has recently started stalling when idling. I come to a stop and the engine cuts out, not all of the time but about 30% of the time. If I keep a bit of pressure on the throttle (with the rear brake on) I can prevent this from happening.
The weird part is the repeating engine light flashing sequence... 2 long flashes followed by 9 short flashes. Presumably this is Honda code for a particular type of issue, but I can't find out what! Any assistance appreciated.

Similar to idle stop but an error. The service manual has a list of these CEL error codes (well, the 2015 version does) as it's part of the ECM management error code list. Some of it means something without the plugin- interogation device, but mostly it's a guide for the workshop. Without the computer probe device you may not get very far, and the ECM is buried quite deep.
Perhaps someone has the manual to hand and can advise what the codes mean. This has some but not code 29 - unless I missed it

Fault.code 9-2 is something to do with the IAT sensor . (Intake air temperature)
My books for a 2011 so it may be different

The IAT sensor is in the sensor unit bolted onto the throttle body so if it's stalling this could make sense.

My 2013 manual for PCX 150 says 29 is IACV malfunction. It reads a loose or poor contact of the IACV connector or, the Idle Air Control Valve or its circuit is malfunctioning.

Sounds more like it.jims wrote:My 2013 manual for PCX 150 says 29 is IACV malfunction. It reads a loose or poor contact of the IACV connector or, the Idle Air Control Valve or its circuit is malfunctioning.
I read it as 9-2 not 29 so it depends what way around it is. The 29 code makes more sense.

chuckzed - have you had a look at the air filter - perhaps it's blocked/needs changing. May not be a simple thing like this, but maybe worth a look
Re: Engine light error code... 2 long flashes, 9 short!
just putting my 2 cents on this very old thread, but the manual states that 2 long flashes = 10 short flashes. So 2 + 9 = 29 which is indeed an IACV error.
