Hi everyone! My name is Tom, I have been reading the forums for a few weeks now. Seems to be a great place, thanks.

I have just bought a like new 2011 PCX 125 with only 848 miles on it. I test rode a 2015 Smax and a 2016 PCX 150. I just couldn't pull the trigger on either one, so I looked at the used market and found the 125 for a decent price. I really like it!

I have ordered a oem Honda tall screen for it. I should have next week. I changed the oil and cleaned the strainer. I am thinking about getting the Oxford mitts to extend my riding season.

Nice, glad you joined us.

Just a word of caution, the 2011 probably isn't an ESP model. You might want to remove or reinforce the center stand.

Otherwise, it's a great little machine. :)

There are also plenty of modifications to keep you busy for a loooong time. :D

And Whitenoise will be elated that you already plugged your info into your profile. :D

Thanks honkerman for the heads up on the Center stand issue.
I gotta say that I am a little bummed out about this. I did just take a quick look around those castings for the stand and it seems to be ok. I am thinking about removing the center stand now. :(

Welcome, glad to have you with us.

The PCX is a great little scooter and should serve you well. I have the 2011 (2010 in Thailand) and apart from the center stand, it seems to be a fairly reliable bike, although I have not had an issue with the center stand. When I first learned about the center stand problem, I contemplated taking it off, but instead chose to leave it on and use it only when absolutely necessary. When I do use it I take care to lift carefully when putting it on the stand, and when taking it off, I rock it gently. My concern is when I take it to the shop and how they might lift it and let it down.

It's really no big deal. Looks like you're keeping it in a garage, so the side stand should be sufficient

That is the first pcx I have seen in the United States that does not have the turn signal posts on the sides in front (aside from the latest models, which now have them integrated). It looks like they were removed. Is there another method for the turn signals to work on Yours? Some of the members have modified the headlight assembly and installed lights in the upper 'wings' of it. However, I see turn signals in the back. I tapped into the turn signal wires in back and installed additional ones that are LED.

Assuming that the angle makes the turn signal post look like it is missing, all you need now is a more comfortable seat. You can order one from powerbypcx.com
Some members have had their bike seats modified locally. In any case, I am sure that you will find the present seat quite uncomfortable after awhile. That is one of the main complaints on this bike. Otherwise, it is really dependable.
If you do not know the history of that bike I would suggest getting the valves adjusted. Unfortunately, when it comes to valve adjustment on that bike, it means taking off most of the plastic, which takes quite a bit of time, so expect to pay around $300 for that service, unless you learn how to do the maintenance yourself.

The signal post is there. It's just the angle that makes it harder to recognize.

Hey guys, yes I have the standard turn indicators. hunker man is correct the angle makes it hard to see.

I don't like that hump on the seat. I was thinking about having the seat re-covered like Mel46 suggests.

I am loving riding the scoot around town! Kinda kicking myself though because I overlooked an 2013 150 model two hours away with less miles and the same price. ;)

Well don't be too hard on yourself. There is a big bore kit for your particular bike that turns it into a 170cc rocket. Maddiedog did that to his before he sold it, and it was very fast. I loved riding it. He and I would trade bikes. He liked my 150 and I liked his 170. I could put a big bore kit on mine but I am not the mechanic that he is, so I am happy with what changes I have made to mine. My wife's bike has the variator upgrade. Until I know whether we are going to ride together again, I am not going to do any more upgrades.

Yuminashi 164 kit sure looks like fun. I do love to tinker. I really don't want to tear apart a perfectly good Honda engine though. I am going to have to order a service manual.

I don't know the history of my bike, so I will have to check the valve clearance soon too.

I am going to keep the center stand and use it sparingly.

This is my first scooter. I have owned and ridden lots of motorcycles over the years.

One more thing to add to your list. With less than 1k miles on that belt you could purchase the NCY variator and drive face, plus 13 gram weights, and your bike would gain about 10 mph top end and be quicker off the line. That particular upgrade would only be a little over $100, but would be well worth it.

Hey Mel, is the NCY golden variator the one I should get?
Do you guys recommend any particular vendor for these parts?

@hunkerman, I may have to get the cheeky cover, looks really nice!

I will be installing my new windscreen tomorrow. :D

I bought my NCY items at corsportusa.com
Use their search app once you are on their site and enter NCY PCX
You need to get the Teflon coated variator, DRIVE FACE, and 13 gram rollers. You might save pennies by ordering from multiple websites but for convenience just order them all from the same place.

I too bought a 2011 with about the same miles recently. Wanted the 150 but it was around 40 to 50 percent higher otd cost. Figured it was not worth it. Might get a 200cc to 300cc later that would be worth the extra dough. Have not had any issue with the centerstand. Maybe a used Forza later on.

I want a Forza too! I haven't seen one in person yet. I am 5'6" and it seems a little big for me. The seats on these scooters are just a little too wide.

I also wanted to buy a new pcx150 but couldn't justify paying 50% more.
