2014 New Model PCX

Post by ChangNoi »

Hello,

I live in Udon Thani, Thailand and plan on buying the newest model. The dealer tells me scheduled arrival here in Udon is 10 March, but has no price, no brochure, and very little other info except a link to a dealer meeting webpage that only had one photo. Anybody got more info or links to specs, photos, and prices? Many thanks!

It's here! I had originally intended to get black, but a candy red one came in first and I couldn't wait any longer (just like a kid at Christmas time!). Price in Thailand was 82,000 baht, all in, including first year full coverage insurance, a helmet, a cover, and 2 years of free scheduled maintenance. That's about $2,500 at the current exchange rate. It's a 4,500 baht price increase over last year (about $135).

New is a digital clock in the instrument cluster and a 12v cigarette lighter outlet hidden behind a door on the left side of the frame (good for recharging a cell phone or other applications). Improvements include an 8 liter fuel tank, LED lighting front and rear, and some kind of improvement in the type of tires, but I couldn't understand exactly what he was trying to explain.
Tires may be different for the U.S. market.

One feature I really like is what I call "find your vehicle amongst the masses". I think this may have been on last year's model also, but you can push a button on the remote and the horn will beep and the marker lights will flash for a few seconds. Very helpful here in Thailand where you might find yourself parking among a thousand or more motorbikes in a busy shopping area!

This bike is powerful enough that I wouldn't mind taking a moderate length trip, say 100 miles or less. Will post more later, and maybe some scenic views of Thailand, although where I am in the northeast is not exactly a tourist destination.

Sorry, the daytime shot doesn't do the beautiful LED lighting justice

I bought mine a year ago for 77 000 baht in Trat. I see you're located in Udon Thani.

The remote is supposed to activate the shake alarm. I don't think it has changed from previous configuration. It flashes and beeps and goes off -- until someone tries to move the scooter. I've never thought that I could use it to call my PCX in a crowded parking lot. That's the only thing it's good for. As a theft deterrent it's a useless feature.

Thanks for the pics. :D

Hello new owners. I wish you many happy kilometers. Would you mind to answer to my questions ? What's about LCD display what new kind of information it provides except clock ? And that alarm it really includes backlight for key lock ? In EU the alarm will be optionally accessory who know what price. And power outlet I miss the built USB with 2A currency drain, but is this outlet under power even you are away and pcs is locked ? Thanks.
I've already sold my PCX and swapped to NC750S DCT

I hope they release this new model in the US....and in white! But I just called the local Honda dealer here in NY, and the sales guy said no such announcement has been made yet. Of course he's a sales guy, and wants to sell me the current model...so perhaps there's still hope we get an update soon. ;-)

Congrats on the new bike. I'm torn over buying a new one ... my 2010 with 15k kilometers on it runs perfect, but there is something about the new one that is pulling me in.

In the UK it seems we have white, shiny black, mat black and red - although it seems to depend which dealer's web site I visit :). I'm still confused why there is a 12v ac (not DC) outlet for phones, nav devices. Seems to be off the generator and not from the battery?

iceman board voltage should be always DC, but 12V not USB plug with 5V, this is what is missing, USB outlet

All the sales literature and spec on Honda websites quotes 12AC outlet not DC (even some bike magazines wrote AC in their early announements). I've never seen the 12 outlet quoted as being DC yet.

Well i've got a matt black PCX 150 and its easy peasey (lemon squeezy) to keep clean, so assume the matt white and the matt silver will be the same......

in fact, i'd say the matt black is the easiest bike paint to look after that i've ever had ( on my 52nd bike now....)
