New Owner, 2014 - AF1123 to be installed in a couple of days

Post by pawineguy »

Have been riding it for a couple of weeks, I added mirror extensions from ebay and have a Givi AF1123 arriving on Thursday. Will post install pics as soon as I pop it on...

Welcome PA guy,
Pa has some nice riding there. Lincoln hwy, Intercourse, etc. The BurgmanUSA group meets up there twice a year for their unofficial rally.
Looking forward to your report/pictures of the adjustable windshield. Seems to be more functional than pretty on the Givi website, but they are drawings.
If it works as good as the ST version, then it will make you happy.

Yes, not sure about its aesthetics, but I love the idea of changing its height, as sometimes, I do like the wind on my chest...

I too am a new owner, and I really like the 2014 Honda Forza. I currently own a 2005 Burgman AN650 with 15K miles on it. The Burgman has a much larger seating area, and more power. It only gets 43 MPG Though. The Honda Forza is great for commuting on, and gets 65 MPG. I have ordered the GIVI D1123ST Windshield and GIVI V47 top box for the Forza. Can't wait till they arrive. 8)

Mike,
I had the Burger 650 Exec and got an average of 54 mpg (US) after 20k miles and pulling a trailer part of the time.
With the Forza and the Honda large windscreen, I'm averaging 67 mpg after 3000 miles. My average last month was 70.6.
Sounds to me like you have a heavy hand on the throttle when riding the Burger. Maybe you ride with the power mode on and race other cars/bikes off the line a lot?

Hi Larry,
I was commuting on the Suzuki Burgman 650. There are 38 Traffic lights and hills (Not Flat) between my home and office. Traffic in Southern CA can be bad at rush hour.
I am pretty gentle on the throttle, but the stop and go traffic is why the Burgman only gets 43mpg. I know if I take a trip on the freeway with steady speeds of 60-70MPH the Burgman will get close to 50mpg or more, but the freeway is not an option on my commute to work. I have never used the power mode on the 650, never needed it. Your mileage on the Forza is great, and I hope to reach that after I put the GIVI windshield on.

The "Burgman grin" is a phrase coined on the Burgman forum implying that anyone who rides the Burgman skuts will be so happy they are ALWAYS grinning.
Some go on to say that is the reason for the full face helmet when riding the burgman (to cover your constant grin).

Hi, Finally got the pictures posted.
This is the GIVI D1123 Screen. It provides great protection from the elements both body and hands. Also the GIVI V47 case, which provides great storage. Since my Nolan N104 helmet would not fit under the seat.
