New bolts

Post by MBMyer »

Well, here's something to lighten your day.

I needed a couple of stainless steel bolts sized M6-1.00 x 100mm. I could not source them locally, so I hit the web and found an online supplier who happens to sell scooters & scooter parts. The price was reasonable, I placed my order, and the package arrived today.

Here's a picture:

I can understand this making it past the manufacturing process, but some poor, overworked shlub picked both of these up and dropped them into the shipping envelope. Without noticing.

Which seems like something I would do.

Pax et bonum,
Michael

If you wanted one of those, it would be impossible to find one....
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

That's too funny! I meant not for you that really sucks. I don't recognize those bolts but I'm still thinking about it.

Thanks for another good laugh, George.

This reminds me of a comment made to my wife by a then-4 year old.

My wife's car seems to be painted in a color we are calling "hit-me-blue." It has been wrinkled up in parking lots at least four times, and the last time was either two cars hitting it, or someone tearing the front bumper off, panicking, and then running over the bumper. Both sides are seriously dented & scraped, and the fog lights & front turn signals have to be re-wired over Christmas break. I seriously don't know what it is about this car that makes people bash into it & drive away in parking lots.

The second big hit happened at a local grocery store while SWMBO was shopping with the 4 year old son of some dear friends. She parked, shopped, came out to the parking lot, saw the dents and transferred paint down the side of her car, and sort of deflated. The 4 yo asked her what was wrong, and she said, "look, John; someone hit the car again and left white steaks all down the side of it."

The 4 yo looked the car and said, "that's OK Aunt 'Chelle, you still got lots more blue paint."

And several parking lot hits later, we still have a lot more blue paint.

And if I ever need a 100mm long 6mm shaft of stainless steel with a hex head, I have one.

Smiling irrationally,
Michael

My wife had a Dodge Ram. People apparently confused the model with instructions. It got hit at least 4 times.

It took me a few looks as the picture was too big to see all at once on my screen.

I spent the last week looking for 1 1/4 inch wafer screws in nickel plate for a bedroom project. 3 towns searched, I bought them all out.

I saw, somewhere, a machine that can make threads on a non-threaded rod. Maybe you can find that place and get that bottom one threaded....or not.
