Back Rest

Post by bobgrabowski »

Does anyone know where I can replace the small backrest on the PCX-150 for a one that has more support. Been trying to find something for the support?

Can anyone help me out.

Check out webike. They are in Japan but the postal time is excellent. There's loads of stuff on there.
Are you looking for something like this?

You can also go to powerbypcx.com and look at their seats. We have one that has a back support. My wife loves it.

Hi and welcome Bob!
You might want to check this website out: http://www.utpr.com
They make custom backrests. If you were to email them and ask about your PCX, I bet they'd work with you. Depends on what you want and how much you want to spend for comfort.
I'm guessing you are in the U.S.? Would you do us all a favor and post your location? You can follow the directions below this post to do so. It just makes helping one another easier. Thanks :P and good luck with "the Rest!"

Are you questioning the Utopia website or other links presented here?
Which one are You looking for.... a passenger backrest? or driver's backrest?
I took your post as asking us about a replacement for the existing stock driver's backrest.

Here's a backrest on a Honda SH150 seat, as an example: http://www.utpr.com/sh150.html
Here's one on a Forza (yeah, a Forza) : http://www.utpr.com/forza.html

The last time I conversed with Utopia, they were willing to work with my seat to create a backrest. That was a few years ago. A phone call or email to them will be best (if interested, of course).

I want a backrest that is not just a butt-hump, but one that you can actually lean back against. Curious to see a pic of yours Mel46!

You want a mid-seat cc-bar on the PCX... (trying not to get flamed) 8) I would bolt that on if it didn't take much to take it off. Because of all the plastic attach to seat itself. Yes, someone patent that and make it bolt up solid so I don't roll off the back when I goose the beasty.

This should give you an idea of what a seat from powerbypcx.com has. My wife has the one with the builtin back support. I am considering making a back rest for my seat that is easily removable. I already have the idea of how. I just need the time and resources. After my wife's bike get out of the shop ( it seems to be making itself at home there right now, waiting for parts from Honda....we are talking weeks, so far, and still not all of the needed transmission parts), then I will locate an upholstery shop to do my project. Untill then, this is about all I can offer you as a suggestion.

Hey Chainsaw, I would be interested in knowing how you got the seat. I have a Noi Watdan seat as well and bought it in person at their shop as I live in Bangkok and was able to ride there. I have referred others to their site, but I don't know if Noi Watdan ships overseas. Being that you are from Australia (listing your location matters), I'm wondering if you happened to be in Bangkok or if you were able to have it shipped.

Mel, how long are your legs. I have a 35" inseam and find sitting on that style of seat quite comfortable but my knees are bent. If you like to be more stretched out, then yes, you would probably need the backrest set further back. If not, you would probably find it to be okay.
